Punk wins the chance to Rest in Peace at Wrestlemania this year :yep:

I say he's the one who breaks The Streak.

No chance. Like I said to Dave a few pages ago, what would it do? If, after a massively long world title reign, Punk is still clearly not "the guy" and will never be trusted to be until Cena is gone, what does it benefit him? It doesn't. No reason to have him go over beyond the shock value.

CM Punk going over on The Undertaker would be a brilliant move and wouldn't hurt The Undertaker at all. If there's a guy who's earned the "I beat The Streak" line, it's CM Punk ... and he can live without the belt for at least a year with this line.
As for The Undertaker, he can always come back for revenge in WM 30.

How so? What credibility does it give him that a title reign of that length wouldn't? When you consider that the only reason that the reign wasn't epic and massively memorable was because Punk was made to be clearly and obviously second fiddle to Cena through its entire duration. Cena's feud with anyone - ANYONE - was more important than Punk and his belt. If they had treated the WWE belt as they typically did and let it headline, then that belt would have given Punk huge credibility. And why do you expect a win over Taker would make the E treat Punk any differently?

I was speaking more as a fan than as the WWE. The WWE and The Undertaker letting Punk go over is a huge sign of respect, in my opinion. Just giving him this match is a big sign of respect. Clearly Dwayne wanted to work with Cena again ... which killed any chances of Punk being in that match. As for Cena still being the bigger star while Punk held the belt ... who cares? If Cena is selling more merchandise than Punk, it is what it is. Punk is the better wrestler, Cena sells more merchandise. Yeah, absolute wrestling nerds hate that, but at the end of the day business is business.

Randy Savage and Ricky Steamboat were far greater workers than Hulk Hogan, but Hogan sold out those houses. For the wrestling purist like W2BTD, it's wrong, but again it's just business.

Even worse, it kills off one of the greatest things they have going in Taker's Streak.

The one way I could see it have a chance is if Cena was heading for a long layoff and they wanted to give Punk a bump to the #1 spot. But the rumors are the opposite, that Punk is the one who wants time away. Plus they could have given Punk that similar bump by not treating him as the #2 guy for the past 18 months.

So tomorrow kicks of the start of a big week of wrestling here in town. I'm going to meet Hernandez and Velvet Sky tomorrow (one of my good friends is Hernandez's agent/attorney) at a fundraiser they are hosting. Hoping that the TNA PR department will officially book her on the podcast for Wednesday. Looking forward to the TNA meet & greet on Saturday, followed by the RCW event on Saturday night and then the TNA PPV on Sunday night.

What Warner said. I've never been to an RCW show but my buddy has been trying to get me to one for a while now. I'm looking forward to checking it out. They have a few of the TNA wrestlers participating on the card and it seems like a pretty well ran organization. Kind of getting back into wrestling again after taking about 10 years off after 9/11. I spent my childhood watching Mid-South wrestling and going to the occasional event in New Orleans or Biloxi. Followed WCW and WWF heavily throughout most of my adult years.
