You know, I've been reading around the net on various wrestling sites, and the general buzz is that TNA failed to deliver on the hype of the #August1Warning and I don't fully understand why.

Lets keep it real here. Who could they have debuted or gotten to come in that could match getting over a million PPV buys as the main event and co-main evented in PPV events that have sold like Tito? The #2 MMA promotion in the world has no problem making their main event of their first PPV have Tito Ortiz slapped right on the middle of the poster and with big letters on the playbill. The answer to the question is...nobody.

The problem is...its fucking TNA and they won't do anything with this and sadly, it will garner no new eyes on the product simply because TNA will have no idea how to capitalize on this ridiculous opportunity they have sitting right in their lap.

Outside of The Rock, Brock Lesnar, or John Cena, there is no one on Planet Earf that is involved with wrestling that has the PPV buyrates associated to them like Tito Ortiz and to a lesser extent, Rampage Jackson in recent vintage. You could legitimately say, you have two of the Top 5 best PPV draws associated with wrestling, and TNA will not do a single thing with it.

I think having Tito Ortiz and other big name MMA talent is a huge coup for TNA...its big time, it should be something that separates them and gives them an edge, legitimizes them...but its TNA...what are they going to do with these riches? Nothing and thats the problem. Bringing in Adam Pearce, MVP, or some other whatever wrestling talent behind this is peanuts in comparison to Tito Ortiz.

The failed New Japan east coast tour in '09 (might have been '10) that put Jersey All Pro out of business.

The whole crew came over for that. Jersey All Pro booked that two or three years too early.

Its too accessible right now for this statement to not be true...there is no real language barrier, because their storylines aren't complicated enough to be anything more than A, B, C wrestling booking (which is a good thing, btw)...its all stuff that happens in the ring...and there is enough of a blend of English Speakers for Americanos to relate to.

They don't even know how to properly utilize WRESTLERS, much less attractions like Tito and Rampage. I mean, Brock is trained, but look at what they have him do. Come out, look scary, not say a word, brawl for 30 seconds and hit one impactful move and be out. Like 6 times a year and wrestle a match or two. You can't tell me Rampage couldn't be used in a similar capacity.

Honestly, I'd rather them just save the embarassment and have Rampage on commentary for a match. Crack a couple jokes, say something nice about whoever is in the ring, pimp Bellator's next show, and leave. At least that actually gets something accomplished. Pushes Bellator, keeps them in Spike's good graces, and there's no talk of what they did wrong. Because this shit is a joke.

To be honest I was actually going to go but I completely forgot about it and ive turned down my buddy for so many of these shows that he doesnt even bother to ask me anymore. But today he told he was going down in a limo if I wanted to get in on it.. But really? A limo to an ROH show? Boughetto at its finest.
