I disagree.

He was already made a HUGE star when he beat Cena clean.

Did Punk become a bigger star when Del Rio beat him at Summerslam and he went on to have matches with Del Rio, HHH, and Kevin Nash? It took an insanely long title reign to regain a ton of that momentum that he already after he won the match.

To chase, win, only to lose immediately and then chase again...has that ever made anyone in the WWE a bigger star? I would say no.

The title is a prop for the stories they tell, you should understand this by now. If you want serious wrestling where titles are respected and the be all end all, you are watching the wrong promotion. I can suggest a few is you like.

Time will tell, but after watching the dust settle here, I think the booking was fine, and put a shit ton of sympathy on Bryan, who has the right kind of babyface charisma to totally thrive on sympathy & the chase. And I think he came out of this a much bigger star. If (and it's a big if) they drop the goofy aspects of his gimmick, this is big money and he'll be a top star for years to come.

I'm curious as to your rationale that him beating Cena clean and going on a title run wasn't "all the way"...I just don't believe this method of chasing, winning, and having it taken away only to chase again is an effective way to get someone over when chasing and winning already gets someone over.

Both Punk and Bryan, Cena more than holds up his end of the bargain to a great match and "gets out of the way" for the right guy to shine for their "moment"...Cena is so underrated, its silly. If I'm a top guy, I want Cena putting me over.

I don't mind Super Cena when it eventually leads to him putting guys over. When his last two Super Cena runs set up to catapult CM Punk and Daniel Bryan, its all good. When Cena puts you over, it means something.
