I wouldnt have too much of boner over this win. The heat beat a team with a crippled point guard that took Overtime to win and then needed a 10 point comeback (which was nice, I'll give credit)

The Heat capitalized on Boston’s injuries — Rondo, Shaq’s calf, Jermaine O’Neal’s back —and old legs.

The Heat won’t have those luxuries against Chicago. They better hope the ATL comeback and win this series

You can tell very little from one game, nevermind game one...but there are causes for concern, and they are the same causes for concern that people were vocal about in the off-season.

Little to no inside game. Chris Bosh is NOT an inside force and the Heat basically have a bunch of bodies on the interior - plus, Bosh playing 15 feet outside gives you little second chance points. Udonis is a nice role player, but he can not be your best inside body. The Celtics with Perkins, Garnett, Shaquille O'Neal, Jermaine O'Neal, and Big Baby Davis come playoff time will give the Heat some serious problems. They gave them a lot of problems last night (buckets came EASY) and while we'll use the excuse that it was only Game 1 for the Heat, it was Game 1 for the Celtics too. The Lakers with Bynum, Gasol, and Odom will also be a problem for the Heat. This we knew before hand, and this we know afterward.

Carlos Arroyo starting at the point is a problem. The Heat need to start a shooter or defender at the point and let LeBron and Wade do the handling. Start Chalmers or House.

The team needs Mike Miller. You can't be relying on James Jones as much as they did last night. He is good for 2-3 buckets a game, but you need Miller there to get you that 12-15 in a game against the Celtics.

With that said, if LeBron and DWade are ever on fire at the same time, every team will lose that is put in front of them. Too much fire power...they'll score at will. Wouldn't shock me if you see Wade and James score 30-40 a piece in a few games this year.

No overreactions...just a lot of thoughts that coincide with the issues many thought prior to Game 1.

While all of this still holds true...no inside game, need more at the point, need someone besides the big three to step up...

They would have won an NBA Championship if LeBron James had at least one testicle.

LeBron James showed he's not even Magic Johnson, nevermind Michael fuckin Jordan. He's Fat Lever. He should be ashamed of his performance in this finals. That was the antithesis of a Jordanian performance in the finals.

Boston was a Rajon Rondo dislocated elbow from being the champs right now..

They are a Rondo elbow + keeping Kendrick Perkins in the WOAT trade of the year away from a 'ship.

Trading Perkins completely fugged up their front court. Big Baby was useless. Shaq and JO had to play more when they weren't capable. Just an awful trade for the Celtics when they are clearly in "win now" mode.

You saw a flaw with the Heat. They tried to go one on one early in this series and it just began to work less and less as Dallas figured out how to contain that type of offense, especially LeBron who didn't score over 25 points againstt Dallas all season.

If there's any evidence that Bron NEEDS a low post game, he should be working all SUMMER on that part. It's stupid how a 6'8", 260lb man doesn't have a potent low post game yet. He simply doesn't have that yet. Time for him to take that next step....oh and have some fucking balls. Have that killer instinct to take 25-30 shots with this team.

Watching LeBron in the fourth quarter, I saw a superstar player who was reluctant to 'seize the moment'. While Kobe will never be as great as Jordan, he has the same assassin mentality as Michael. Kobe wants to break his opponent, to stick the knife in and nothing will stop him from doing it. Isiah Thomas and Larry Bird had that same iron will. LeBron has shown flashes of this, in '07 against Detroit and this year against Boston and Chicago. But in these Finals, he wilted. Credit Dallas for their solid defense, but you have to figure out a way to beat it. Dude passed up way too many shots - it was like watching a game of hot potato. He's three feet from the basket, yet passes to Juwan fucking Howard??? I couldn't believe that shit. Riley and D-Wade were probably saying to themselves, WTF is going on in this dude's head?



The young man has a lot to learn. If I were him, I'd seek out Magic, Michael or Larry. Pick their brains, ask how they dealt with playoff setbacks.

Yeah, its amazing how a bad performance can erase a history of being great. Its odd that people think like that, but that's the way it is. I remember when Dirk was soft, scared of the moment and couldn't carry his team, yet now he's beloved. Sports fans are so fickle. When Miami wins a championship I'd assume people will be willing to bring up Jordan in a favorable comparison again.

I've heard people say(including my father) the LeBron is similar to Wilt - tremendous physical gifts but their egos are so big, the fear of failure(looking weak)makes them reluctant to take the risk at the big moment. One of my friends posted this at another thread;
