Yeah, I’m the same way. I am a LeBron fan and I wanted to see him do it, but he never did. That’s what concerns me though, because he didn’t do it. He seemed content with the way he was playing and that’s sort of bothersome to me, because you would think that something inside of him would have wanted to obviously win the game/series, but also just shut every one up. Oh well.

He has to understand that anything short of performing well in the finals and winning it next year will be considered another failed season. For LeBron its going to be a long offseason, long season and long playoff run until the finals.

I thought he was going to do it in game 6 actually. I think he came out and got 9 really quick points and was just nailing jumpers like it was nothing, then he faded away. When he did that I honestly thought he was going to have one of those nights people talk about years from now, but he didn't keep it up and reverted to the way he had been playing.

I like when someone can shut up there critics, if they aren't an immature, egotistical, arrogant, poor sport. I would actually feel for him because not everybody can perform at he highest level at the highest stage. Not everyone can have the courage to put it all out there and take the chance on failing in order to have the chance to succeed. But James is getting EVERYTHING he deserves right now. The guy brought so much of this on himself. If he sees the light, gains a little humility and respect, I'll change my mind.

Yeah, its amazing how a bad performance can erase a history of being great. Its odd that people think like that, but that's the way it is. I remember when Dirk was soft, scared of the moment and couldn't carry his team, yet now he's beloved. Sports fans are so fickle. When Miami wins a championship I'd assume people will be willing to bring up Jordan in a favorable comparison again.

You're probably right, but my main point is that some people wrongly classify players based on single performances without putting everything in proper context (IE Dirk).

Dirk is the same player he's always been...the only difference is that he has a championship now. Dirk has always made tough shots in big moments. Its the same thing with Pau Gasol. Before winning a championship Gasol was labeled "soft," but when the Lakers won 2 championships people changed his label to him being, "a skilled and finesse PF," and after the Lakers lost in the playoffs and he didn't play well he's back to being labeled "soft" again. The same thing happened with Dirk. he went from being labeled soft to being the, "most skilled big man in the league."

Throughout the playoffs James was playing great and he was being given credit for being so "clutch," was clearly the best player in the league and compared favorably to the all-time greats, yet when he plays bad against Dallas all of that goes out the window and he all of a sudden can't handle big moments, plays scared and is no longer the best player in the league. I just wish people would use more consistent reasoning in their player evaluations.

For instance, take James again. People are now saying, "the best player in the league shows up in the finals." Yet when you challenge them by asking, "So is Dirk the best player in the league?" they don't have an answer. You can't make a comment like that without relisting the players. Using that criteria the best player in the league would have to be Dirk. However, most reasonable people wouldn't agree with that. Basically, people make these blacnket statements that have no value.

I don't think soft is necessarily bad. Soft is finesse. You can be very skilled and be soft. There is a difference between skilled finesse soft and mentally soft.

You don't have to win the championship to be the best player in the league. I don't know where you are getting that from. I know your arguing against it. But I don't know how you equate "disappearing in the finals" being the same as making it or not making it to the championship. Dirk was always a very good player. Not best in the league. Nobody is saying Dirk is the best because he won. People are saying you can't be best if you disappear in the finals. There is a HUGE difference. This isn't the first time I've seen it from James. the Heat did make it to the finals in one year of picking up 2 guys...I wouldnt call that a negative...and all you amateur fans bashing Lebron is pointless...if you are an NBA GM , you sign him if available without question...odds are, the Heat can make it to finals next year while the Mavs will have to enjoy this one for another 10 to 20 years

Players greater than LeBron James have had playoff failures. I can't wait to see how he responds to this next season. Does he come back like Magic after '81 & '84, Jordan after '90 or Kobe after '08?

It was no secret I wanted to lose, just good night sitting in AC at the BlackJack tables, watching the game, drinking, and having my wife over my shoulder not saying a word about it.

As much as I hate them, they are still going to be in the finals again next year and Im sure they will win it. My Bulls really can only go down from here, I think they overachieved this season so probably a second round dismisal from the playoffs unless they do something in the offseason, the Celtics are done, the Knicks (hahahaha) and really there isnt anyone else in the East especially if DW leaves Orlando.

Chalmers is a rfa so they tendered him which allows them to match any offer another team makes.

And I'm sure the new cba will mess up at least some teams...coughKNICKScough....
