This conversation has gone on quite the tangent, no?
Anyway, I'll add my 2 cents: you should never thank someone for doing their job. In this case, Ian and the devs' job is to make a realistic professional football videogame. They were hired and are paid by EA to make the game. The first few years of this current generation, they did NOT make realistic videogames and essentially were NOT doing their job.
This year, however, it appears that they have actually done their job. I can't be certain, because we've only played the demo, but I think from the opinions shared on this forum, many of us are pleased with their product. We won't be fully certain of this until we play the full retail version, but so far, the reaction is overwhelmingly positive.
But that doesn't mean we should thank them. We should merely compliment them and maybe even congratulate them on the fruits of their labor.
