Very low is where it's at! Played the second round of the Masters with those settings last night, and ended up winning my first green jacket. Just finished The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, TOUR Pro difficulty with green grid off, and very low AI scoring. Shot a 59 (-13) the first day, trailed Tiger by a stroke for the lead. Shot a 61 (-11) to finish off the tournament while Tiger had a 63, giving me a one-stroke win for the title. BOOM.
So after some solid time playing with this game, here's my wishlist for next year:
Outfit Creator: I'd like the ability to set up five outfits for quick changes. Hat, shirt, pants, and accessories. Would be much easier than going through the myriad selections in the Pro shop.
Trophy Room: The Masters trophy room is fuckin weak sauce. I want to see all of my trophies from every victory, as well as easily accessible career stats and career history (such as where I finished in a particular tourney each year). I would also like to see player awards make their way into the game. Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Byron Nelson award (player with best scoring average w/ a min. 50 rounds played [rounds played could be adjusted lower for the game]), Arnold Palmer award (awarded to the biggest money-maker), etc.
Money for Pro Shop: I'm pretty sure in past years you earned money based on your finish from each tourney...I'd like to see this brought back. Pro shop items could be unlocked just as they are now, or purchased with tourney winnings (I'm ok with some items being achievement-only).
Sponsorships: Another potential cash cow could be getting actual sponsorships. Played would be paid money for wearing sponsor's clothing and using their clubs/balls/shafts, etc. Players could also earn commercial deals in their career to earn more bucks.
Award Presentations: I was severely disappointed winning the Masters...c'mon EA, I want to see my guy get the green jacket put on by last year's champ. I want award ceremonies after all of the majors at least, if not the small ones as well.
Course-specific Objectives: Medalling up to make your caddie better at a course is fun, but it's too cookie-cutter right now. I'd like to see course-specific objectives to get new medals. For example, get a hole in one at TPC Sawgrass on hole 17 as a gold medal objective. Avoid every bunker at St. Andrews for a bronze, stuff like that.
Improved course intros and flybys: The commentators suck with their course introductions. Give me some actual history, announce that this is day three of the Masters, and I want more in-depth flybys on each hole so they can actually help me make decisions.
I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but that's off the top of my head.
