I tip my hat to M$ for their 360 marketing & aggressiveness (their quality control and hardware still sucks dong though). However, I still can't fathom what the fuck millions of people see in the Wii. An initial curiosity, OK, but this thing is still selling strong this late in the game???? Fuck me........

When wii is acutally in stock it's cheap. People respond to shit that costs less. If u had a snickers on sale for a buck, and generic candy #5 on sale for 20 cents, i'd be buyin the hell out of generic candy #5 as long as it didn't taste like ass. Thats what the wii is. that's a fine analogy when you are comparing like products. But the Wii and 360/PS3 aren't equal products.

Neither would a snickers and genric bar #5. Two are CLEARLY, better than the wii, but the wii having a cheaper sticker price, cheaper games, and a game that comes with a free controller pulls people into buying it.

Those points in that article are all very valid and I definitely agree with them. I've basically echoed the same things over the past few years. I still believe that the PS3 is the superior console but Sony has made some egregious errors during this generation.

Actually the PS3 is more expensive because of the Blu Ray player. It has nothing to do with what it's made of.

I can honestly say I've used my Blu Ray player once, just to see the quality of it. Why pay $2 more to rent or $10-$15 more to buy a movie when the quality isn't even that much better? It's just a waste in my opinion.

Do you have an HDTV? Cause when I buy Blu-Ray movies they look absolutely amazing.

Exactly what Hero said. And the audio is unreal. I'm guessing you're still renting from stores like Blockbuster? The wife and I use Netflix and I think the monthly rate may have went up $1/month since blu-ray hit the scene.

Another thing that completely baffles me about the PS3 is the lack of included component cable, especially at this poin in the life cycle. I still can't believe they didn't include one initially but here we are 2 1/2 years later and Sony still only offers a composite cable? Are they fucking looney? Didn't they trumpet "HD gaming begins when we say so" or some bullshit? Yet they give us composite cables? My buddy just bought a PS3 a few days ago and I was stunned to find out this practice still stands.

Blu-Ray is nice but don't get me wrong the increased quality in video isn't worth paying that much more for a movie. The quality is fine enough, I grew up watching VHS's like the rest of you, and what are on standard DVD's are fine enough for me. I buy so many DVD's, it would be stupid to pay 8-10 dollars more when I buy so many.I had a PS3 awhile back and sold it within a month or two. The main sellling point to me is online. It seems all of my friends, and people in the community have 360's. People who say PSN is free and it's great and dandy. But from my experience using it, I hated it. I am fine paying 7 dollars a month to get online.

If you cannot pay 7 dollars a month for online play, you're a bum. Start panhandling. 7 dollars amounts to one or two times you have put off going to fast food. By paying for XBOX Live, you become more healthy as well

I will say the sweet thing about the PS3 is the internet browser. However I have a computer, and like 3 laptops in my house. I don't need to get on the PS3 to use the internet. I used to be a HARDCORE sony fanboy until I picked up a 360 controller. I love that damned thing in comparison to Sony's.

online on PS3 "sucks" because of all the broke people who are on 360, because you guys have all your leagues on 360, so of course you aren't going to have fun online unless you make better friends with more PS3 guys...we actually have a lot more here then I expected. For the record once again I've had both.

And btw...Blu-Ray, the Media Library, free internet (which if you do the math, covers the difference in price with the 360 in what? 2 years?) and playstation@home blows away that idiotic Mii impersonation of an avatar system that xbox has.

the reason the wii is the the better selling console is that it doesnt market to hardcore gamers. It is marketed towards the mass audience and kids. We (hardcore gamers) make up a small portion of the market. The casual gamer and people ages 6-12 dominate the gaming market.

good point. I personally can get good enough quality from a torrent and watching it on my PC or streaming to my big screen tv. movie quality isnt that important to me.

I have a 42" HDTV and the quality I can get from torrents for free > paying the extra $$$ for a blu-ray DVD you'll watch maybe 2-3 times (unless it's Pineapple Express in which must be watch 2-3 times a week).

Again, everyone's only complaint with the 360 is the fact that it's hardware sucks. Look at the recent studies. They will show you the failure rate between the 360 and PS3 is very close. 6% for PS3 and 8% for the 360. It was a problem of the past, not the present or future. RROD is no longer a problem with 360 users, at least not as much as it was before. The gap has decreased greatly.

I never once said "everyone who uses the Blu-Ray player is an idiot because it's no good". I simply stated that I don't use it and I find it a waste of money. How can you be biased about a blu-ray player when it has no competition and no ulterior option? It has great quality, but the quality of a regular DVD is perfectly fine for most people.

I love my ps3, i'd considered getting a 360 instead due to price but ultimately I bought what i considered to be a better fit to me. I bought a PS3 when they were $599 and i feel i've got at least triple that out of it how much i've played it.
I've said this before and alot of you get butthurt but all the guys i know my age who have a gaming system have a ps3. Im 27 and pretty much all my friends and coworkers who play games have a ps3. All of my teenage cousins whose parents bought them their gaming system have a 360. Its hard to convince someone else to buy you a $400 system when they see a $199 system in the same section of the store.


I rarely ever experience lag online while playing games. I agree that the extra features Xbox Live gives you could very well be worth the money. Many of you xbox guys who play PS3 online hate it and thats fair because you're used to something completely different. I have a HDTV and love the way bluray movies look. But you know what? My ps3 also upscales my DVDs to 1080i so they look pretty damn good as well.



I hate the console war crap, I enjoy my ps3, you enjoy your 360 and lets all have a happy life.

How can anyone bitch about games for ps3 with MGS4, LBP, The Show 09, and Motorstorm 2 all released in the last year.

And Killzone 2. I have no idea. PS3 has amazing exclusives. I could easily argue that the PS3's exclusives are much more varied and pummel the 360's exclusives.

But I can see how people can say that the big exclusives, like the ones mentioned above, did come a bit late. And it didn't help that the 360 had a year jump start anyway.

Apparently you missed the part where I said "recently". I'm not saying RROD hasn't been a huge issue with the 360. I stated it is no longer a huge problem with new 360's.

360 guys dont say Killzone sucks/ is all hype

they are both amazing exclusives
