This is one of my issues with the current state of the UFC, they run so many PPV's and expect people to drop $50 a pop for them, you should get a high quality card for $50, this isnt a couple years ago where you couldnt get good MMA all the time

Now with CBS, Showtime, HDnet, etc..putting on good cards for pretty much free the UFC still is putting on half hearted attempts for a premium price, should you really be paying for a Rashad vs Silva headliner and these other fights?

I know they had injuries, well you should pay for what the card is and not what it could have been

UFC diehards will point out that UFC is now going to be airing shows on Versus but much like we already know, they don't put good shit on network cable. TUF is all network cable but what is TUF? 90% reality TV and 10% of actual bouts. UFC Fight Nights are network cable but we're lucky to get a really good main event on Fight Nights. UFC All-Access is re-airs and shit we've already seen. Strikeforce is putting their top fighters and top bouts on CBS, not pay per view. Even Showtime, its a premium channel, but not $50 per view to watch it. HDNet is on of my favorite channels b/c they do nothing but air DREAM, Bellator, and MWC cards.

Dana will never put title fights on network cable b/c the casual fans continue to pay a ton of dough to watch the shit on PPV. A bunch of yahoos who don't know shit about the UFC, other than Brock Lesnar could beat up anybody, get together, drink beer, and watch guys they don't know beat the shit out of each other.
 
Thiago and Rashad isn't a good fight? They might not be huge GSP, Brock, etc level draws, but both fighters are top 10 in their division and styles make fights. Thiago is a threat to just about anyone standing, he has great power and speed, while Rashad is becoming pretty technical in his standup and is also pretty quick. Rashad is a great wrestler, but if the fight goes down he's contending with a BJJ expert. Great matchup stylistically.

If people payed 50 bucks for UFC 100, which was shit, then this card is definitely worth the coin.

never said it wasnt a good fight, so now 'good' fights should get $50 every time? The consumer has the power with what they buy, if people buy this card it just makes the UFC more likely to put more cards like this on and not even try in the future
 
Rashad vs Thiago is a good fight but that's about it. Also keep in mind that 90% of the fights on this card were originally scripted to be different match-ups than they are now...to include Rashad vs Thiago. This card should of really been put on Spike, beginning to end. I can't wait to see the PPV buys once its over b/c I really don't think we're gonna see good numbers.

Good fights are worthy of being on a PPV, whether or not it gets $50 every time is up to the consumer. Encourage it? Shit I wish they would put on more cards like this. Is it amazing, no, but it's better than 90% of the cards that they've put on in the past 2 years, at least.

Tell me this card isn't far better than Ortiz vs Griffin 2, Couture vs Vera, Franklin vs Wanderlei, Anderson vs Thales, Jackson vs Jardine, Sanchez vs Stevenson, Franklin vs Henderson, and probably even UFC 101 as well.

This card is a huge upgrade over the typical BS PPV fights we've been fed by the UFC hype machine.

Cigano and Yvel is such an awesome matchup. Dos Santos is the most legitimate young HW on the UFC roster and arguably Top 5 HW, and Yvel is still a legitimate HW who could very well pull off the upset. This fight alone garnered enough interest for me to buy it. I'm a bit surprised it's the first card on the main event.

And UFC 100 a shit card?

exactly, thats why I'm saying people should stop paying for these cards, Oritz/Griffin is not PPV quality, Couture vs Vera and Sanchez vs Stevenson were on Spike where it should be just like this card

We have the power, but people are still paying because it's 'UFC'

What good fights came out of that event? Lesnar vs Mir was too lopsided to be considered anything special, GSP vs Thiago was also lopsided and wasn't one of GSP's more exciting fights, Henderson vs Bisping aside from a highlight reel KO was not much of a fight, the Belcher fight was probably the best fight on the card.

Hindsight, but even going into the event all of the matchups were pretty uneven aside from the main event. Who thought GSP or Hendo had any shot of losing their fights? Not many. Great talent on the card, bad matchups.

Brock vs Mir was for the title
GSP vs the number 1 contender Thiago for the title
Hendo vs Bisping was supposed to be for a title shot (until Dan won, lol)

Making those 3 fights is what you pay for

Titles and title implications have a lot to do with how good a card is. This is why we have titles afterall.

No, but title fights and number 1 contender fights usually have more meaning, better talent and are 'bigger' fights, plus title fights are 5 round fights

Shogun vs Machida is a much better fight with a title on the line and for 5 rounds

Pretty much. Thats why I dont complain when the cards a little weak. When you're putting on so many fights theres gonna be some weaker cards. Rashad will show his drawing power with this event.
