Cain is the future champ, a while ago I picked him over both Brock and Carwin, Brock and Carwin would be a 50/50, but Cain beats both of them, I thought he wouldnt beat Nog because he hasnt shown any power standing, but he did last night

Nog could probably sub him, but Brock and Carwin wouldnt be able to, Cain took a huge step last night, kid is for real

Mir would get smoked, JDS would get mauled on the ground by Cain, I dont see many HWs the UFC has that can beat him in the future, maybe a Gonzaga

good show of class by Wand and Rampage, a hand shake is nice seeing they both almost killed each other at different times

I still think Velasquez is over hyped.

His punches have looked like cotton balls in most of his fights , he got rocked like 4 times by Kongo , and the first time he displays power is against a guy whos looked atrocious in 2 of his last 3 fights. When Mir and Velasquez look like sharp power punchers maybe its Big Nogs chin I question. He looked like molasses again. I think the Randy fight was so damn spectacular because both guys were just about equally slow.

I wont knock his technique , aggressiveness or heart which seem to be very very good. I just see Carwin or Brock bulldozing the guy so long as they dont get into some point for point boxing fight.

As for Wandy...I thought he was done. Especially with the "now hes back to the old old wandy training" then comes out with a handshake and a smile. Proved me wrong for sure.
More leg kicks , good takedown defense. Would liked to have seen a bit more aggression but he didnt walk into anything stupid trying to get in range.

BTW why dont MMA guys get there nose cartilage removed/shaven ? Unless its some urban legend dont boxers all get surgery to avoid the type of constant breakage ?

Stepnololous manhandled Stevenson. Extrmely impressive.

The Bonnar/Soszynski fight was very fun to watch. Too bad about the headbutt. Is Bonnar ever in anything boring ?

I think you're underselling Cain. As he learns proper striking technique, that can only boast his striking power. Ideally, JDS will defeat Gonzaga on the Versus card. Then we can get another chance to see how far Cain has improved against a very good striker before throwing him in with the champ

Perhaps. But in 3-4 fights we've seen him land about 100 punches only the one against Nog looked remotely devastating.

Ill wait and see before I hype him up.

He did land some nasty strikes against Stojnic in the clinch. Kongo was a big step up from a striking perspective. I think the consistent fighting has really helped him improve all around
