He also fell into some bad habits and while falling backwards, threw a punt duck in the air that a Houston's safety had a chance to intercept. He wasn't getting hit. He just threw that ball off of his back foot while falling backwards like he does. The kind of throw he has to avoid. The kind that killed GB in some playoff games.

HE has to get it in his head, that if he's going to be falling backwards, DON"T THROW THE BALL. If he avoids this and game manages like he did last night, then he'll be pretty good.

Two highest rated games of the regular season will be Packers and Vikings. Favre vs. TT, loser leaves town :laugh:

It's possible that the Vikings lockerroom is split on winning too. Some think it makes them a better team, while others think it's a prima donna.

Yeah I really doubt an NFL team is split on winning. I'm sure everyone is behind Favre now considering the team is 6-1 and he's played well, not counting the Steelers game.

the loss to the steelers wasn't on favre it was on our play calling there was no way favre needed to be throwing it 51 times in a game. granted we couldn't run but when you have AP you don't abandon it so quickly, plus he's the type that will only get 1, 4, 2, 7, -1 then spring it for 20+

plus neither defensive td was entirely favre's fault.

I really can't put that loss to the Steelers on Favre either... Chester Taylor makes that catch and they are probably at the 20 at worst. They were moving the ball on that last drive pretty easily and a lot of that had to do with Favre not forcing passes and finding his outlets... Now, when the outlets can't catch a short pass and turn the game over you have no chance.

I'm not putting it on Favre but he should share the blame. To just fall down like that after the interception was cowardly. I know he's 40, but just dive in front of both guys.

Don't ruin an entire season on one play. If this was college, I'd react differently, but Favre made a good decision on that play.

so you're saying it's ok for Favre to let the other team score a touchdown to avoid injury but he should be commended for running downfield and pointlessly launching himself at a linebacker?

that makes perfect sense.

favre's tackling efforts were downright embarrassing. he didn't even try to make the tackle. if he's willing to run 40 yards down field to help block on offense then he should have no problem trying to make a touchdown saving tackle.

Quarterbacks are neither expected nor obligated to make tackles whether they are 23 or 40. and both incidents are completely different situations. Furthermore, I can assure you that after that first one the Viking reminded Favre to stay out of the way. Also, as we are getting close to midway through the season Favre wants to make sure he doesnt do anything stupid to cut his season short.

sorry tailback but I can assure my points are exactly how basically every team in the league thinks about putting the QB at risk. They have absolutely no problem nor do they blame Favre for anything. Again , no QB in the league is obligated to tackle. They are not trained for it and its too risky.

you're not getting it. favre's effort has nothing to do with the team's expectations of him, only the expectations that he has of himself.

the vikings or people like you may not hold favre accountable for his embarrassing effort on that play and i can understand that. but he should hold himself accounting because he is a football player, a teammate, and a leader.

i have seen hundreds of QB's make tackles on defenders after throwing an interception. did they have to? no, of course not, but they wanted to. that's my point.
