What teams have improved the most this off-season?

There's plenty of talent on the Broncos... We have two bookend tackles on offense and now that we have a right handed QB Orlando Franklin won't be relied upon to protect the QBs blind side and can just maul guys.

We have two good young wideouts in Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas with Thomas showing flashes of possibly being great now that he has some experience, and a guy throwing the ball to him with pinpoint accuracy. They upgraded at TE when they brought in Jacob Tamme to replace Daniel Fells and have Julius Thomas coming back from injury this year who they took in the 4th round last year and was looking great before getting hurt.

I don't know much about Ronnie Hillman but I know he can't be worse than Knowshon Moreno.

We have two top 5 pass rushers in Dumervil and Von Miller.

We replaced the useless Andre Goodman with Drayton Florence and Tracy Porter and we still have Champ Bailey and a second year guy in Chris Harris who was showing flashes down the stretch last year and supposedly the kid they drafted from Az. St. in the 4th was a 2nd round talent before he got hurt.

Oh and we signed some QB from Indy who is supposed to be pretty good from what I hear.

Orlando Franklin? Dude is a 2nd year player. Pro Football Focus gave him a negative 9.1 grade. Good run blocker, struggled in pass protection...for a team that threw the ball a league low 429 times. He'll probably be asked to pass protect over 100 more times this year with Manning.

The young WR's are good. No doubt.

Jacob Tamme doesn't scare anyone, and nobody knows who Julius Thomas is (why should they).

Hillman is a rookie, so you have no idea if he'll be worse or better than Moreno.

The pass rushers are good, but they're not top 5. I'll give you top 10.

Champ wishes he had more help in the secondary.

Outside of what everyone knows you have (Manning, the young wideouts, the pass rushers, Clady), the team is pretty meh and you're counting on rookies and guys who "showed flashes".

Because Manning is Manning, whoever plays TE becomes scarey, Jacob Tamme, Joel Dressen...the wide outs become scarier...if a RB can block and catch passes, becomes scarey, too. Deficiencies in pass protection are made less with Manning and his control and manipulation of the pocket. Sure, Big O needs to play the interior, but he wasn't a bad rookie last year considering he's kind of out of position at RT.

If you don't hit a big name, its all about bodies and guys that fit...I think for what the Broncos set out to do, they did very well. They definitely went into the off-season with a plan and I think they executed said plan very well.

That's a pretty unimpressive group of guys you just mentioned. Like I said, the Broncos are counting on a lot of unknowns. Manning's health, the rookies that have been mentioned, Julius Thomas "looking great before getting hurt", Chris Harris "flashing", etc.

I don't know how anyone can say they've improved so much with all of these unproven guys and a brokeneck QB.

You try to make a point about Orlando Franklin being bad at pass blocking and that being a negative since Denver will pass more with Manning. Yes, Denver will pass more next season, that much is obvious. However, what you are forgetting is that Tebow was the qb last year and the grade of the oline took a hit because he was behind center and held the ball for a considerable amount of time.

Manning, even if his arm isn't what it used to be, is probably one of the best in the history of the game at reading defenses and can have the ball out in 3 seconds, not 8-10 like Tebow. I am not worried about Franklin and his ability to pass block for Manning. Also, Franklin won't be blocking Manning's blindside, so he will be able to see rushers coming from that end.

If Brady Quinn is taking meaningful snaps for KC next season then something has gone horribly, horribly wrong.

Also it's funny how you tout the upside of a guy who has had multiple shots to be a starter at QB in the league and yet you're writing off Franklin after one season protecting the blind side of a completely unconventional QB.

I made a bunch of points about how KC improved and you cherry picked one little comment about Quinn when I admitted he sucked in my original post. Not really sure why we're getting into Quinn this much.

Tracy Porter is going to come back with a great season I think. He'll be 26 when the season starts, and working on a one year deal. Considering the pay day that a lot of above average corners made this off-season, Porter's definitely going to work towards a successful season.

I wouldn't even start to say that 49ers are "most improved" but I will say that I like the moves that they have made and I'm intrigued to see how Alex Smith looks next season. They have done some tweaks to his mechanics and gave him better targets to throw to. I'm optimistic about Randy Moss and I love how he signed such a team-friendly deal. He's a low risk, high reward peice and if it pays off...

I also love how the entire defense is coming back, I thought for sure that Rogers was a goner. Aldon Smith will be a beast again, especially if he comes in more often than 3rd downs like he did last season. I wonder how many sacks he can get as a starter. This is Harbaugh's first complete off-season with the team, they managed to be the most-improved-team last season with the same players. Now after a year-plus in his system? I'm excited.

For my pick on most improved... It's hard to say (since I have 49er goggles) but I'm interested in the Buffalo Bills. If the big money they spent pays off, I think that they might be able to be something of a darkhorse team. Of course, you can't overlook Peyton Manning in Denver. If he's the HOLY-SHIT-PEYTON-MANNING-GOAT he was prior to being hurt...
