Solid flick, about a group of kids during their summer off...John Hughes-ish.

this movie was terrible. To me John Hughes ish means breakfast club or sixteen candles. where u incorporate real life issues with funny, interesting characters and a great story.

this film had none of that. It did have a real life issue, but just one. Its basic premise was teens who cant express themselves and spend to much time worrying about what others think of them. there was next to no story and not one character was memorable.

i wasnt expecting to find the next ferris buelers day off, but i was hoping for some value. and even though i DL the torrent for free, it wasnt worth the 20 mins it took to DL

Finally watched Swingers all the way through. Not really sure what the fuss is. It was just okay and Vaughn was annoying as fuck.

Also watched Rounders. I don't care about poker and it was still a badass film. Malkovich's Russian accent sucks dick, though. Damon's girlfriend in the film had some nice titties filling out that turtleneck in the beginning. I'd quit cards for those.

I've seen this 5 or 6 times, and I have gone from thinking it was pretty good to now completely hating it and thinking it's shit. First time I saw it...I could find some enjoyment in it, it was a well made movie, but I none of the characters were likable.

Then I tried to watch it again just as background noise, and I had to turn it off...awful. Not a single fuck is given about the characters, so much so, you dislike each of the main characters.

Fuck that movie.

Knuckle - A 12 year documentary about Irish travellers (gypsies - more or less) and their family fueds which end up in bare-knuckle boxing matches. Very interesting view into a world I never knew existing. It's pretty sad how these different families are so inbred that it ends up being cousins and brothers punching each other in the face. Recommended if you want to see some shitty boxing and read subtitles for English-speakers (very heavy accents). I score it a "wow-that-one-guy-is-old-and-mean"/10

Sarah's Key - A look into the French (not Nazi) roundup of Jews in 1942. Poor record-keeping by the French during WWII sets a modern-day journalist to investigate a family's heartbreaking story and it's possible connections to her own family. This was one of the best movies I've seen all year and it hardly left a dry eye in the house. A fascinating look into a historical tragedy which isn't widely taught in schools today. Very well done. Highly recommonded for all viewers (except little kids) - mostly in English and French(with subtitles) and brief German (also subtitles). I'll score it "that-was-the-most-painful-scream-I've-ever-heard"/10

Priest - An alternate reality where vampires and humans had been at war for millenia and a specially trained group of vampire hunters called "Priests" finally won the war for humans. The Church runs society and a Priest must break away from authority to avenge his brother and find his niece. It was exactly how it looked - shallow story with good fights and cool costumes. Don't recommend this unless it's free on TV and nothing else is on. Scored with an emphatic "Paul-Bettany-should-never-speak-with-an-American-accent-ever-again"/10
