I can't wait to see what they're all going to be doing on the next madden when that's going to be gone.

The motto of sim players. I'm not dissing that style. Occasionally, I like to play sim games. It's a good change of pace. But we all need to learn, the best simulation of a football game is ACTUALLY PUTTING THE PADS ON AND PLAYING. Unless you do that, accept what EA gives you, or don't buy the game. But the truth is that there is something every year that is overeffective. Why would someone NOT use a dangerous tool to the game? It's stupid not to.

If you aren't breaking EA's gameplay rules for MCs or pulling a disconnect glitch on me, I have no beef....

Watch, we won't be talking about RCs and FB dives next year. But the same guys bitching about that right now will be the same ones bitching about players who run "whip routes", "qb bootlegs" or whatever overeffective thing works next year.

There are defenses that counter FB Dives and RCs. No one here asks though, just a lot of gripes and complaints.....

I agree with you HoustonBoy. If I were running a league, the only rules I'd specifically say are no glitches and no rocket catch. I think running the same play over and over again is a strategy, because if it works and the defense refuses to stop it then that is there issue.

And ZAN, no one cares if you can rocket catch. If it makes you think you're legit then more power to you.

lol like it or not you sound just like I did at maddenlist and when I first joined here.

I will never complain about a QB bootleg because they're are many simple ways to shut it down. Hell a simple CB blitz may do the job for you most of the time.

You will never hear me complain about FB dive. All you gotta do is call the right blitz and it's easy to stop once you see it coming.

The Rocket Catch isn't anything like either of those. So what defense is a good one to call when someone can send their WR towards the sidelines, throws the ball without even looking at the WR. Turn around and there's a 90% chance that the WR will catch the ball even with 5 people in the area trying to defend him.

If we're going to talk sim then there's a huge group of people lumped together, because no one on this site is unstoppable.

Just today in a freestyle league I was playing the Jaguars.

I put my safety,cornerback, 2 linebackers, my DE and my DT all in the "curl to flats" purple zone which is the area where the RC takes place most of the time.

Even with a grand total of 6 defensive players on him like white on rice, Matt Jones was able to repeatedly catch the ball with no problem. What else am I suppose to do, I already left the run wide open not to mention the whole center of the field is left un-covered.
I lab alot but I'm not about to waste my time trying to figure out how to stop the RC.

Sadly that's the simple equation to one of the hardest things to stop in the history of madden, no football games, no football in general.

I'd have a better shot at tackling Jim Brown(That black dude that use to play football) 1-on-1 in the open field, then I'd have at stopping the RC 1-on-1.

Why would anyone brag about being a great "freestyle" player. Anyone can abuse the AI and rocket catch all game long. It takes no talent whatsoever.

In maddens greatest last season ( a freestyle league) Breezy Boi beat me in the SB . He bearly rocket cought one pass all season. You can win "freestyle games without" rocketting. Rocketting is lamely easy on the 360 , but its also stoppble unless the wr is called Matt Jones or Randy Moss (lol) .

I play both , made playoffs and sbs in both. Won 3 sbs in sim leagues in 09 , and honestly , i have to think more when i play sim and thats the truth. Sim takes more tactical ability , freestyle takes more "user stick / pre-snap adjustment skill"

And dont bet its gone in madden 10 houstonboy , it should be but they claimed it was gone in madden 09 and was it??? No it was probably easier (360 at least). He even said himself , that never in his wildest dreams did he think when he took the LT button out of offense that people would be manually turning wrs around to rocket.

Btw sorry zan but rcs are 3-4 button combos.

Snap it , Wrs button and LT together , b to switch then manually turn them around and press y and up or diagonally. Curls are even less cause the curl turns them around for you.

I wouldn't go that far. It does take some talent to be able to do everything, and if you're playing another freestyle player there obviously has to be a better player.

RC is easily stoppable, the only problem is you have to use your CB, and it has to be a guy like Cromartie, somebody tall and can jump high...I've had to do that quite a few times, you control your CB, spotlight the WR for over the top coverage in case you bite too hard, and thats one half of the field shut down...Its not anywhere near fool proof but try it sometime it takes getting used to, its all timing....or you shadow the guys they like to rocket catch with a hard hittting safety and just wait for them to jump and use a high hitstick...

A lot of the RC'ing players, and by that i mean guys with ridiculously high jumping, spec catch, and height...dont have that great of hands or catch in traffic in the game.

There's nothing wrong with being freestyle, but once you become naive you'll end up failing hard. If I were you I'd start taking lessons from archer, not your bro.
