Thing is, we finish fourth, we attract better players because of CL football. We also earn more money, attract even more sponsors. Better players=better results, thus we keep getting better.
The FA Cup would be great. However, it doesn't do much in the way of making potential targets dream of playing for us.
Also winning the League is a far greater accomplishment than Carling or FA, or even both. The only thing that beats winning your league is winning the Champions League.

Non of which I disagree with and 4th over anything else was what I wanted at the start of the season but it was always gonna be a big ask and was unrealistic as we can now see, especially once Lucas went down.
But the League was never gonna happen, if we do the double we've won 2 out of the 3 competitions we've been in how is that not a success or progress? We were in the bottom 3 18 months ago.

We were also higher than this at this point last season. I don't really believed we've progressed. We're about the same, maybe a little worse. The cup and cup final is nice but the league is a true representation of your ability.

We had Lucas then, some of the players involved are gone, new ones coming in adjustment period, how many games this season have we been able to play what would be our full strength team (none), etc.
We could argue all day about this, I see progress, you don't, guess we're just gonna have to agree to disagree.

Got sidetracked but my thoughts from the match:
- Same old shit, bossed the entire match (1 of if not the most 1 sided game I've watched all season) and nothing to show for it, as soon as it got to 60 minutes and it was 0-0 I knew how it was gonna end :smh:
- Didn't get a goal but I thought Andy played well yet again
- Suarez was great (when he played it across the goal for Agger that was brilliant) but he's still shouldering far too much of the load when it comes to creating and attacking
- Hendo looked good (he's definitely best suited to play in the middle), the move that led to him hitting the crossbar was fantastic, 20 mil was still ott for where he is now as a player but I think he'll be great in a few years
- Dirk's miss early on :smh:
- Thought Pepe could have done better on the goal but Glen should have never put him in that position in the first place

Luis has 8 goals and 5 assists in the league and has scored 14 in all competitions this season, bearing in mind that he has missed 9 games through suspension (a quarter of the season). You'll hear no argument from me about Andy but to say Luis has been a flop is laughable only a manc would come out with such utter shite :lol:

I didnt say he specifically was a flop. I said a total amount of 60 mil spent has only gotten 8 league goals and 14 total would have me kinda pissed.
Is Luis a beast? Absolutely. He is dynamic as fuck. Great to watch, but when he gets in front of goal, he misses alot more than he makes. And his misses are cringe worthy. Calm your Rawkish ass down.

Suarez would be better suited with a real finisher and perhaps another creative player. I think he feels the burden to create all of our offense himself.

And once again he missed 9 games through suspension and is still responsible (scored or assisted) for a third of our league goals. The poor finishing is down to him having to do everything and create all his own chances, you only have to look at his performances for Ajax and Uraguay to see the guy can finish. He has more than justified his price tag and to say different is ridiculous.

Got rid of Sir Les and Ginola for John Barnes and Ian Rush who were both in their late 30's and went from 2nd to 13th playing Stokeball.

I have my doubts about Kenny too. I honestly believe best case scenario for us is him winning the FA Cup, and the stepping down/back to a more behind the scenes ambassador role. It takes away potentially splitting the fan base by firing him/keeping him and also only adds to his legend.

I have not. But we should not be taking into account stuff that is 20 years past while evaluating his current performance. He's an absolute legend, probably second only to Shankly. The cup finals are nice but it is the league that reveals your true form. The 2 cup finals are short term, they are nice. Thats why if we win the FA, I think the best scenario for everyone is for Kenny to step down. Especially if we finish bottom 10.

He has done more than enough to deserve at least another year, if we are in the same position come the end of next season then questions can start to be asked, Rome wasn't built in a day. Hate the people that keep saying that no it doesn't, without even getting into the shit we've had to deal with this season we've clearly been better than our league results would suggest and our cup runs prove it.
