I guess THE REEM was on the MMA hour today, he was told that his next fight was October a while ago, which I do remmeber as the tentative date for the 2nd round

Now they want September 9th and THE REEM said that's to soon, he said they have threatened to kick him out of the GP, now he is talking about boxing and K1 and fighting in October some how, with SF or not

This is a major tournament, sept 9th is like 6/7 weeks away, he just fought, big foot and sergei have been training and getting ready since the beginning of the year, give these guys 1 month more, it won't kill them, the sept show already has a bunch of good fights

Show me the last time in Zuffa a champ fought that close together, the guy is asking and thought it was going to be a month later which is still close together

The issue is, they divided up the first round of fights.

Have all of the first round fights on one show...a few months later, second round...then the finals. Simple booking, people.

Apparently, Showtime has no dates for October. So the GP has to happen in September or it will be delayed until the end of the year.

It will suck regardless if Overeem doesn't continue.

where do you see showtimes dates for October? They only have stuff listed until August, let me guess, Meltzer?

The only time I remember Showtime having boxing every week during a month was like 1 time, may I believe

The situation is that Showtime has certain dates that it allocates for major Strikeforce shows, and it is believed there is no big show planned for October and the question becomes would they delay the tournament another few months?

Strikeforce has not made an official announcement of the 9/10 date being the semifinals largely trying to settle this matter before an announcement is made.

The situation right now is not resolved but if Overeem doesn't fight and they don't delay his match, that Daniel Cormier would be the likely person first asked to step in against Silva.

So SF really has their hands tied here, because Showtime is a pain in the ass. In can't blame SF for wanting to push this for September, and I understand where Overeem is coming from, too. But now its a pissing contest so I doubt Overeem will fight in September.
