And I find I can see my tactical changes in the match engine a lot better this year. I think I read that SI says this is the same engine from 11.3, but I find my tactical changes and shouts are working so much better than they ever did in 2011. I'm not world beating, but if I tell my guys to pick up the tempo and it works, I see that difference. I often felt like what I was trying to do in 2011 was just ignored

I don't think you could pre-load it until the last day or two. I was playing around in Steam on the weekend, after I had pre-ordered, and that option wasn't there. Tonight it was.

So I'm curious when FM12 will become active. I have it pre-loaded on Steam. I am blindly hopeful that it will become active as soon as the clock hits midnight and it becomes the 21st in the UK, but I somehow doubt that....

I believe that is case, at least, that's how they did it the last two releases. So, hopefully they do it this time. I've got a long bus ride home tonight, would love to have all that time.

Edit: SI's twitter says it's available to everyone one minute past midnight in the UK.

5 pm here! The database size is starting to get annoying as I move closer to January. Will save all he tactics and training schedules I did and starting over.

Figured that would be an issue. One of the main reasons I held off on getting into the demo too much.

I'm intending to actually try to create my own tactic this time around. Been doing some reading and want to try to put together a posession-based, short-passing 4-1-2-2-1 based loosely on what Barcelona does. I'm not sure Ajax is the ideal club in terms of talent, but the relatively low level of competition in the Eridivisie should give me some leeway.

Been meaning to try to find some of the database real name fixes. Anyone found any yet?

I've had a ton of success the last few years making my own tactic. It took some time but I finally figured out what all the sliders do and how they relate to what I want my players to do.

I've done enough reading through the years that I've always felt comfortable with the theories and sliders and such. Its the tweaking and perfecting that I've always lacked the patience for. It takes time to take a tactic and get it work ideally. I'd start out with good intentions, run into a result or two that went the wrong way and meant the tactic needed some tweaking, so I would end up finding something similar that was working for someone else and just go "plug n' play" (or as close to it as FM lets you go now).

There are a couple of Barca-based tactics threads on SI that I've been reading and I wanna explore the ideas. Short passing triangles, maurading fullbacks, and pure posession football.

I can't wait to get my grubby hands on this tonight.

Biggest problem I have seen in the barca threads is an inability to get the DM to drop back as a third CB. If some one gets that, should be good to go
