If they haven't used it yet...just call it in tomorrow and say you lost it. They will close it and send you another one. It will suck that you don't have a debit card for a week or two but you don't have to worry about it and can start using PSN cards.

This whole thing just keeps getting gayer and gayer. What's next? I'll bet whenever this does get back up the update bricks all our consoles.

Keep up the good work Sony.

Odd. I wouldn't do that even before this nonsense came about. That card is direct access to your bank account, fuck that noise.
You can. I had mines linked. I preferred for the money to be taken out immediately instead of forgetting about charging 99 cents to my CC and not paying that shit and getting interest on that shit. Thats why I wasted no time calling and getting my shit changed. New card will be in the mail tomorrow.

Shit. I have no idea what my PSN password is, or if I have any CC info associated with my PSN ID.

It really isn't a big deal. When Monoprice was hacked I had my # stolen and some porn charged to it. The CC company auto refunded me, I didn't even have to fill out any forms. Monoprice also gave everyone a free year of fraud protection too. So really it isn't the end of the world and happens to all kinds of companies all the time.

I recognized by how many stars were in the PSWD box what word combo I had used....so I changed the only other account (non financial) with the same password. Never trusted any gaming box to have my CC info saved on it but because I didn't want them to charge me for a renewal subscription when the current one ended.

edit: PS just released this...guess they are protecting themselves from the backlash that already started:

I wanted to take this opportunity to clarify a point and answer one of the most frequently asked questions today.

There’s a difference in timing between when we identified there was an intrusion and when we learned of consumers’ data being compromised. We learned there was an intrusion April 19th and subsequently shut the services down. We then brought in outside experts to help us learn how the intrusion occurred and to conduct an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident. It was necessary to conduct several days of forensic analysis, and it took our experts until yesterday to understand the scope of the breach. We then shared that information with our consumers and announced it publicly this afternoon.

For those who were looking there’s also an FAQ with some more frequently asked questions

Thank you for your continued patience and support.

Luckily, I have a different password for each site that I've used my CC info. I've been paranoid about shit like this for years now. Now, I just need to make sure there hasn't been unauthorized purchases with it, and I might just get a new one anyway to be safe.

I've dealt with enough cases of online credit card fraud at this point to know almost all credit card companies and even most banks have pretty good fraud protection on them and most of the time things are fixed while you're on the phone with them.

I'm kinda hoping this makes people think of the way they use their credit cards anymore. I myself have a couple and the one is used soley for online purchases. It has like a $1000 limit or something small on it so even if I ever have to eat that in real life it won't be an issue.

Also jokes on me my normal ccard is attached to xbox live and I should pratice what I preach.

Got mine at 10:25/9:25 PM CST.

Paid with PSN Card credits so I'm not too worried;I can imagine there's going to be verbal outbursts on the next Podcast.

                              Twigg included.

Comparing a network slow down because they weren't ready for the amount of traffic to hit their network vs sony totally shitting the bed and now your information might be floating around with a few million other peoples info on some nerds computer because sony is pretty stupid is really dumb. You're starting to get into chodite levels on fanboyism.
                                1) I posted that before all the info came out before the possibility of our info being comprimised. I was merely mentioning that this wasn't an issue that was exclusive to the ps3. Our info being compromised is nothing to fuck with. Identity theft is a nightmare.

                                2) I could've sworn Live went completely out for a few days back in 2008 but I'll take your word for it that it was just a slow down.

P.S. Go back to your fucking PC. I love how you read what I post and always try to twist it into some fanboy comment.

P.S.S. I just double checked and saw I.posted that comment on the 24th. The concrete info about accounts being compromised didn't surface until almost two days later. Way to drudge up an old post and make it look like something it isn't. PC FANBOY. Don't you have some amazing Counterstrike to play?
