Falcons beat SEC opponent, Mississippi State, in dominant fashion
Brian Shwayzed continues to lock down the left side of the defense with this interception for a TD.
Taylor Jones had a monster game that include this forced fumble in the 4th.
Airik Aldridge looks on after a beautiful TD pass to Jose Villasmil
Summary:
This Daytona State Falcons team came out playing on all cylinders from the very beginning. A poor dropped pass by Ethan Woy landed Airik Aldridge an INT which was ran back for a TD, but that really was the only mistake of the game of any sort. Coach Scolpa really said something to fire of his team leading up to this game. That is evident. Just what he said though? That may never be known, but what IS known is how damn good the Falcons played.
After losing so handidly to Troy last week the Falcons seemed relatively unfazed when the Mississippi State Bulldogs from the big bad SEC came through. Hell I'm even sure they had the same thought going into this game as th Falcons did against Troy last game. Either way, the offense was clicking with Aldridge at the helms again and it looks like he will retain his starting spot. Another "welcome back" is to Jose Villasmil the speedy and very big mouth wide receiver. On he debut back he had 1 catch which was a touchdown. He will not be starting next week, but he may work out of slot. Kyle Hadley was shut down earlier on in the game, but picked it up in the 2nd half. He finished with another 85 yard game with a touchdown.
The defense. What NOT to say about this unit this game. I'm beginning to think Coach Scolpa let the defense have it more than the offense after the loss last week. Whatever he said it showed in their fiery plays in the backfield and just all around hustle to the ball. Once again the usually play makers made some important stops and such, but one player who hasn't been HUGE all year (but still sufficient at his position) is DT Taylor Jones. He finished with 6 tackles, 2 for loss, 2 Sacks, 1 Forced Fumble and a pass deflection. His forced fumble resulted in MLB Nick Sigona scooping up the ball and running it in for a 2nd defensive TD of the game. The first belonged to CB Brian Shwayzed who continues to impress.
This next week is possibly the most IMPORTANT week for the Daytona State Falcons not only all season, but for years to come. At least 15 recruits, who are mostly in top 15 recruiting board for them, are scheduled to attend the game against Western Kentucky. Many of the recruits have had DSC slipping on their lists, but all hope is not lost. With a good week for these recruits not only as in the Falcons winning, but the trips for these recruits turning out really well, they could land quite a few key positional needs and a couple wants as well.
Mississipi State comes to town this next week and it doesn't look pretty. After this licking Troy gave Daytona State I can only imagine what a very good team from the SEC can bring to the table. These players will be ready mentally for this game, though. Not so much physically most likely, but for sure mentally.
Falcons Stats:
Offense
Kyle Hadley, HB- 18 attempts for 86 yards and 1 TD
Airik Aldridge. QB- 16/25 135 yards 1 TD 1 INT

Thanks Jay. Yeah I was really pleased how my team pulled together in this one. NCAA is a weird ass game. Shitty against Troy and good against Miss St lol. Dunno
And Rudi that would be nice. I might need a little extra help to nail alot of these guys.
