Falcons step it up late with a come from behind win

This backfield is just dangerous. PERIOD.

Jag Quincey is playing lights out this season. Can you say going to the NFL?

Star WR Craig Simmons makes an excellent grab for a TD.

Another week, another win for DSU. FIU entered the game on a sort of hot hand as they started 0-5 and won their last 3 previously. The Falcons shut their hopes down of getting to their 4th win in a row. Aldridge got into interception trouble in the first and second quarter, but RB Kyle Hadley bailed him out with 2 TD's to come back from a 0-9 deficit. After that it was pretty much all Airik Aldridge as he calmed down and maneuvered around the field throwing for 3 TD's. Daytona Beach moves to 6-3 (4-0).

Fighting from behind, Nick Sigona started shutting the offense down as soon as it began. The Golden Panthers scored a touchdown, missed the extra point and kicked a field goal in the first quarter. This was due to QB Wayne Younger bombing an 67 yard pass to a waiting WR in the endzone. When they tried to run, Nick Sigona stuffed them. When they tried to pass, Jag Quincey either scared them out of bounds, hit them so hard they fumbled, or picked off the quarterback. Good win today by this defense.

In Week 11, for the third straight week, the Falcons will be on the road. And off to Arkansas they will go to take on Arkansas State who is currently winless. Injured players and coach meltdowns are attributing to the failure of this program this year. Can Coach Sean Shola lead his team to another win in thE Sun Belt and avoid getting beaten by a winless team?

      Falcons Stats:
      Offense
Airik Aldridge, QB- 12/26, 191 yards, 3 TD, 3 INT
Kyle Hadley, HB- 33 attempts for 167 yards, 2 TD
Craig Simmons, WR- 5 receptions, 84 yards, 1 TD
Nick Harvey, FB- 4 attempts for 33 yards, 1 reception, 1 TD

      Defense
Nick Sigona, MLB- 10 tackles, 4 FL, Sack
Jag Quincey, SS- 10 Tackles, 1 FL, INT, FF
Brian Williams, RE- 9 tackles, 3 FL, Sack
DeSean Williamson, OLB- 9 tackles, Sack, INT
Shane Booker, RE- 5 tackles, 1 FL

Dial up some more FB runs. That backfield will lead you to Ws if you keep it up.

          Winless Ark St stays winless

          Hadley doing his job.

The MiG with a forced fumble.

True Freshman Brian Williams with the Sack

Arkansas St never even had a chance in this game. With their first 3 drives being turnovers, the Falcons used these mishaps to their advantages and either scored immediately, or right after. Great clock managment also alowed this game to go by much faster. Arkansas St was just crushed on both sides of the ball.

Daytona State looks to play its hardest conference game of the year from the looks of the next matchup. UL Monroe is 6-3 and looking like the #1 contender to win the conference championship. If Daytona State wants to takeover that chance they will need a Win.

          Falcons Stats:
          Offense
Airik Aldridge, QB- 11/16, 202 yards, 2 INT
Kyle Hadley, HB- 29 attempts for 133 yards, 2 TD

          Defense
Nick Sigona, MLB- 10 tackles, 2 FL
          Jag Quincey, SS- 12 Tackles
Brian Williams, RE- 6 tackles, 3 FL, Sack
Dexter McPherson, CB- 5 tackles, 1 FL, Sack, 2 INT, TD
Shane Booker, RE- 6 tackles, 2 FL, Sack

Turnovers prove key in Falcons loss

Ethan Woy had a career game.

Freshman DT Shane Booker continues on his hotstreak with 2 sacks

Josh Krueger makes a beautiful TD catch in corner of endzone.

Before being injured and told he could not play for the rest of the game in the first quarter, Airik Aldridge fumbled and threw 2 key interceptions. All three of his turnovers led to 21 points for the Warhawks. He took a shot to the knee in the 1st quarter and was deemed unable to play for the rest of the game. Coaches say it isn't too serious and he will be back for thenext game against Western Kentucky. Raw Blung, the backup, did very well throwing for 205 yards and 2 TD's. Kyle Hadley did was he does best and that is run all over defenses. Ethan Woy caught 2 TDs.

On defense the Daytona Beach Falcons gave up over 400 total yards, but still somehow managed many sacks and interceptions. Shane Booker, had 2 sacks as well as Nick Sigona and VSN Saluki. Brian Shwayzed had 2 interceptions.

Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will look to take advantage of this tough loss and try to gash the Falcons even more. At 6-4, the Falcons could still have a chance at the Sun Belt title if UL Monroe loses out in their next 2 games as well as the Falcons winning theirs.

            Falcons Stats:
            Offense
Raw Blung, QB- 12/16, 214 yards, 2 TD
Airik Aldridge, QB- 7/14, 129 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT
Kyle Hadley, HB- 22 attempts for 150 yards, 1 TD
Ethan Woy, WR- 4 receptions, 115 yards, 1 TD
Craig Simmons, WR- 5 receptions, 60 yards, 1 TD
Josh Krueger, TE- 2 receptions, 75 yards, 1 TD

            Defense
Nick Sigona, MLB- 10 tackles, 5 FL, 2 Sacks
DeSean Williamson, OLB- 7 tackles, 3 FL, Sack
Shane Booker, RE- 4 tackles, 2 FL, 2 Sacks
VSN Saluki, RE- 6 tackles, 3 FL, 2 Sacks
Brian Shwayzed, CB- 7 tackles, 2 INT

Western Kentucky is just BAD. I on't see how they even have 4 wins coming into this game. The only reason they even got points was off lucky plays, but no matter. A win is a win no matter how big or small.

Airik Aldridge showed why he is just getting better and better each season he plays. The later he goes on into his career he keeps getting more accurate. Proven in this game with his 5 TD's and nearly 400 yards. He and Kyle Hadley should make it to the NFL some day.

On the other side of the ball, Nick Sigona and Jag Quinceys futures look bright. I would not be surprised if Jag Quincey ended up declaring for the NFL draft after the end of the season as it has been rumored he has been talking about doing it.

Last game of the regular season is against Troy in Daytona Beach. Last season the Troy Trojans embarrassed the Falcons as they came into the game with a 0-11 record. They put up 38 points on the defense in rout to a win. Lets see if Shola's team can get revenge.

                Falcons Stats:
                Offense
Airik Aldridge, QB- 21/33, 378 yards, 5 TD, 1 INT
Kyle Hadley, HB- 25 attempts for 155 yards, 1 TD
Josh Krueger, TE- 7 receptions, 109 yards, 2 TD
Ethan Woy, WR- 6 receptions, 147 yards
Jose Villasmil, WR- 2 receptions, 53 yards, 1 TD

                Defense
Nick Sigona, MLB- 10 tackles, 3 FL, Sack
DeSean Williamson, OLB- 10 tackles, 5 FL, 1 INT

I forgot to mention like 2 games ago, but, you are actually started in place of VSN Saluki. He was injured and put out for season.

Last second FG snags a win for the Troy Trojans

Kyle Hadley may have been shut down running, but he proves he is still lethal at receiving, here.

Freshman RE Bryan Lane fills in for injured VSN Saluki with a nice sack.

Scott Mescudi shakes defenders in rout for a TD.

This game was mostly a back and fourth game. DSU scored, Troy scored, etc. What finally did it for the Falcons in the end was field goal in the final 4 seconds. The Troy Trojans barely squeezed away with this one after another great game by QB Airik Aldridge. The defense kinda let him down in this one.

Kyle Hadley was not a facotr running the ball. Most of his 100 yards came from a 34 yard run in the first quarter. After that it was all 2-3 yards gains everytime he ran. Not sure what was wrong with him, but I'm sure it must have just been a nagging injury that should be gone before the bowl game in 2-3 weeks.

The defense let up point after point after Aldridge would score for the offense.

The Daytona Beach Falcons finish the regular season at 7-5 (6-2). It looks as though they will not win the Sun Belt championship and also play for it. The bowl game has been predicted by analists, but the team does not have a definitive answer yet. That will be decided in the coming days.

                    Falcons Stats:
                    Offense
Airik Aldridge, QB- 19/30, 296 yards, 4 TD
Kyle Hadley, HB- 26 attempts for 100 yards
Lo Paka, HB- 8 attempts, 40 yards
Craig Simmons, WR- 7 receptions, 86 yards, 2 TD
Josh Krueger, TE- 3 receptions, 40 yards

                    Defense
Jag Quincey, SS- 8 tackles, 2 FL
Nick Sigona, MLB- 7 tackles, 2 FL, Sack
DeSean Williamson, OLB- 7 tackles, 3 FL, Sack
Bryan Lane, RE- 6 tackles, 3 FL, Sack
