Through the Sun and Storms | The Daytona Beach Falcons
This was a tough loss to swallow for this team because of how much they dominated the whole game. They even had a chance to win it at the very end with 5 seconds left. Ben Dover missed the field goal wide right due to 8 MPH winds which lost the game for the Falcons. The defense completely broke down in the 4th though and should be to blame as well. Airik Aldridge struggled a bit pre 4th quarter, but even more once he was into the 4th throwing 3 INT's.
Another BYE week will have this team thinking about what they need to do to turn things around.
Falcons Stats: Offense
Airik Aldridge, QB- 27/45, 459 yards, 2 TD 3 INT
Kyle Hadley, HB- 20 attempts for 109 yards, 2 TD
Craig Simmons, WR- 10 receptions for 241 yards, TD
Scott Mescudi, WR- 5 receptions for 63 yards
Woy continues his success this game with another 100 yard game
Homer Olsen has a message to send this year
First safety in the history of the Daytona State Falcons made by VSN Saluki
A very well played game for each team ended in an exciting way. With 1 minute left in the 4th FAU took a punt return to the house to tie the game. Daytona State was unable to make anything happen with 50 seconds left so the game was sent into overtime. Daytona State had trouble getting in going in OT and had to settle for a field goal. The whole team was nervous until Jag Quincey intercepted the ball on the second play by FAU QB Van Belt. This sealed the win and added to the very nice home win record in place. QB Airik Aldridge continues to be on fire with his 3rd straight game with at least 2 TD's and 350 yards. Kyle Hadley obviously can't be stopped so no need to mention his stats. The defense struggled giving up 400 yards passing, but still pulled out the win.
A UL Lafayatte team that is on fire looks to halt Daytona States success in week 7.
Falcons Stats: Offense
Airik Aldridge, QB- 23/44, 348 yards, 4 TD 2 INT
Kyle Hadley, HB- 26 attempts for 157 yards, TD
Ethan Woy, WR- 7 receptions for 115 yards, 2 TD
Craig Simmons, WR- 6 receptions for 76 yards, 2 TD
Scott Mescudi, WR- 5 receptions for 79 yards, TD
