Off-Season a success for Shola

The first Off-Season of Coach Shola's career has ended and it was definitely a successful one. On top of signing some very nice football players he also had a couple of players who are outstanding, transfer in. Mini-Camps went well and the players have high hopes for the upcoming season. Coach Shola has stated in his blog he will look to schedule tougher opponents so he can challenge his kids. Pre-Season recruiting and scheduling starts tomorrow.

just read through ur off-season stuff, nice job signing a 4 year extension. although, it woulda been kinda kool for you to finish off ur contract here and then continue ur coaches career at kentucky.

Great work here Rylo, and your building process definitely seems to be on the right track. Those two transfers definitely should help too.

Gotta get that QB play working, though, to complement Hadley.

e. Schedule looks tough but doable - if you can pull off a win over one or two of those teams it should be a big boost to recruiting.

Falcons ready for new season

The Daytona State Falcons took only one major blow to their team this off-season. That blow was significant though. They lost every starting offensive lineman from the previous year and are left with 3 former backups and a true freshman starting.

Speaking of true freshman... Bryan Lane and Bryan Williams will both be getting the nod at RE by alternating in between downs. Coach Shola says he does not see enough in any of them to take over VSN Saluki's starting job. However he thinks them alternating will be a great force at the RE position and he might even experiment with them at LB because of how agile they are.

The situation on defense other than that is the same with all returning starters. On offense it's basically the same as well. A little mix up with wide recievers, but nothing major. Airik Aldridge is the opening week QB unless otherwise noted and of course Kyle Hadley and Nick Harvey retain their starting jobs.

This season's schedule looks to be really tough and experts from ESPN, ABC, NC are all predicting around the same thing. A 6-6 record and sitting in 4th place in the Sun Belt conference. We will see how this turns out as the NCAA season starts saturday.
