since i was at the middle school state CYO (catholic youth organization) meet today (we got second place, i got 27th overall out of 218), i didn't have time to get in an update. i'll have 2 or 3 updates tomorrow

NCAA to Experiment With Game Length

Indianapolis, IN - In one of the most surprising decisions in NCAA history, it was announced yesterday that for one week only, all college football games will be played with 16 minute quarters (in the video game, it will be 8 instead of 7 minute quarters to see what happens. I'm trying new sliders).

"We aren't trying to boost stats or anything. We just want to see how teams and fans will cope with the sudden change in game length," said John Chapman, a member of the committee that voted on the change. "We want to see if the decision will attract fans or turn them away. We also want to see whether it will boost stats or scores by a larger margin than we want."

The decision came after weeks of heated discussion. In week one, 12 games involved a team winning while scoring less than 10 points. "That's too few points," Chapman told us. "The fans want to see action! The previous weeks haven't showed much action," added Christopher Wren, another member of the NCAA committee.

In other news, coach Anthony Thompson has received verbal commitments from two more recruits: Tracy Lilly and Dennis Hooper. Both of them are four star recruits, both were highly sought-after by the Indiana recruiting staff, and both play positions that Indiana desperately needs for next year. "It is obvious that both of them will start in 2011," said Coach Thompson last night. "We don't have a linebacker or a safety to start ahead of them."

srry guys, cross country season is over very soon. right now, we have practice from 4:30 until 6:30, leavin me almost no time to work on updates. since the season is almost over, i will have plenty of time to work on updates starting sometime next week. until then, expect at least 1 update a night (except tonight, cuz practice went late. really late.). i'll have the game update tomorrow for sure. in fact, all i have to do is post the pictures, which will take like 5 minutes. but i can't do it tonight cuz my mom's in a pissy mood right now.

Offense Leads the Way....Again

Bloomington, IN - Even though the defense has played miserably the last few weeks, the offense has been one step ahead each game. Today was no different, as the Hoosiers out-gunned the Wildcats 53-48 in the Hoosiers first 64-minute game.

"We suck," said Tim Alexander. "I know you guys are thinking, 'You guys have a player in the Top 10 in the nation for almost every defensive category! How can you suck?' We can suck because we give up over 30 points a game, which is one of the worst in the NCAA. That's bad." "We need to get our act together," added Adrian Burks, one of the starting Hoosiers corner backs. "I'm having trouble just going out onto the field because we think they are going to score every drive. We don't have the energy or motivation to make great plays anymore."

Even though the defense gave up a ton of points, they came up with some key stops when they needed it. For instance, with Northwestern driving down the field and only 53 seconds on the clock, they Hoosiers came up with a key interception that ended the Wildcats' drive. The Hoosiers ended up scoring a field goal, giving the Hoosiers a 6 point lead. In the 4th quarter, after Indiana scored a touchdown to take a 5 point lead, Tim Alexander came up with an interception in the red zone which gave the Hoosiers the win. "At least we won," Alexander said after the game.

The Hoosiers face a tough Michigan State team next week.
