Thompson needs to stay at Indiana and ensure Florida (at least) is on the schedule and then run up the score on them. Remind them about the bowl game and then quote Will Ferrell in Land of the Lost and tell Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley to "Suck it!" :D

I'm might do something like that. Maybe I'll end the chise by sending Thompson to Florida or Oklahoma? Maybe I'll sign the extension? Or maybe I'll sign none of the stuff and retire in a few years? Who knows?

Thompson Turns Down Florida and Oklahoma, Signs Extension

Bloomington, IN - Anthony Thompson, the much heralded head coach for the Indiana Hoosiers, turned down offers to coach at Florida and Oklahoma. Instead, he decided to sign a three-year extension with his current team, which will now be the head coach at Indiana until the 2014-2015 season.

"I feel like I owe something to Indiana fans," said Thompson yesterday. "I have turned around this Indiana team. To leave now would be like a slap in the face, because I don't know if my successor could do this well coaching. And don't worry, my ego isn't bloated. I'm just looking at the facts."

The decision has left Florida and Oklahoma scampering for a new head coach. "We had our heart set on Thompson," said Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley. "Since he no longer wants to coach here, we don't know who else to hire." "It was clear that all of their recruiting power was going into signing Thompson," said the Sooners former coach Mike Stoops. "Now that he signed with Indiana, maybe they can go after me or something."

Very good choice by Thompson to stay with Indiana. He's building a great program, I look forward to seeing what you do from hear on out man!

In any other chise, I would have moved him. But since this is a dynasty with Indiana and not all about the coach, I'm sticking with my Hoosiers. Plus, they're my fav team, and i don't wanna leave them.

Off-Season Report: Players Leaving

Bloomington, IN - Indiana released it's much anticipated "Players Leaving" list, and some of the decisions are surprising. Thirteen players are leaving because they have graduated, and a record 3 players are transferring: Kevin Tremblay (Central Michigan), Damon Sims (Arkansas State), and Darius Willis (Kent State). Chris Adkins originally signed for the NFL draft, but changed his mind yesterday and decided that he would come back to Indiana for his senior season.

Bloomington, IN - Since Indiana landed so many great recruits during the season, their off-season has lacked much of the excitement (recruiting wise) that has been present in recent years. In the first two weeks of the off-season, the 9 remaining scholarships were taken by players of mediocre talent.
