Return to the Glory Days: An Indiana Hoosiers Dynasty
Indiana Lands 3 Recruits in Last Week of Recruiting
Bloomington, IN - In the last week of recruiting, coach Anthony Thompson received verbal commitments from the following three recruits: Malcolm Howard, Jose Griffin, and Cory Williams.
Malcolm Howard, a free safety from Akron, Ohio, is the 3rd Free Safety that has committed to the Indiana football team. "I feel that I can get a lot of playing time [at Indiana]," he said yesterday. "Since Indiana's top free safety is leaving next year, I feel that I can compete for the starting job right away."
Howard is a safety who's primary strength is dropping back into coverage. With 8 interceptions his senior high school, he led his conference in interceptions. He's not a great tackler, but makes up for it with his amazing play recognition skills. "I can tell a play as soon as I see it," he said. "I guess it's just one of my best traits as a football player."
Jose Griffin, a three star tight end from Martinsville, Indiana, has a balanced set of skills. He can catch, block, throw, run, and play defense. In fact, he played 4 positions in high school: Quarterback, Tight End, Safety, and Kicker. "I was one of the best athletes in my school, and I think that is the reason that I can play football in college," he said. "Since I can play so many different positions, it helps me attract scouts because it shows that I am very athletic. If I hadn't played that many roles for my team in high school team, I wouldn't be here today."
The third recruit, Cory Williams, wasn't actually being recruited my Indiana. In fact, almost no one was looking at the 2 star defensive end from Bloomington, Indiana. "Schools like Florida and Alabama called me, but I received no scholarship offers," he said. "So I called [Anthony Thompson] and asked if I could walk-on to the football team. He accepted graciously."

I would get fucked in the ass for WS tickets too... only if Miguel was playing though
Palm Beach, FL - Yesterday evening, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission announced that Mitch Ewald won the 2010-2011 Lou Groza Award, annually given to the top kicker in the NCAA.
Ewald, who went 35-37 for field goals this year--which set the record for field goals in a season--didn't think he deserved the award. "Sure, I made more field goals than everyone else in football," he said. "But that's because I attempted the most field goals. I am certainly not the best kicker in the NCAA."
What's funny is that the runner-up, Dustin Hopkins (kicker from FSU), made only 27-31 field goals. "Ewald is clearly the top kicker in this years NCAA class," he said. "I gladly give up my award to him. He is the greatest kicker I've ever seen."
Other award nominees from Indiana included Duwyce Wilson (finished 12th place for the Returner of the Year award), Chris Adkins (finished 6th for the Jim Thorpe award), Donnell Jones (finished 5th for the Jim Thorpe award), and Tim Alexander (finished 2nd place in both the Dick Butkus Award and the Bronko Nagurski Award).

awww what a suck up, i woulda been like "YEP, IM THE BEST KICKER ALIVE, YES, THE BEST KICKER ALIVE, YES, WEEZY!"....i think you get my point.
:idontgiveafuck:
But seriously, that's probably what he would be thinking if he won the trophy also. I just wanted to make him a little humble because it makes Indiana as a whole look better. Thanks for checking in
updates today.

Great job on landing those recruits, next year's looking to be real good. I'd never expect to see any player from Colorado win the Heisman, let alone a receiver who doesn't even play there anymore :p
yep, this is the best i've ever done recruiting in any chise. ever. so im pretty happy. and i was just as surprised as u are when i saw that he won the heisman. he probably deserved it though. thanks for c
