Man, I just caught up on this. I'm a huge Hoosiers fan, and I love what you've done with this. Super fantastic.

On a side-note, I just wanted to say you've really gotten a lot better as a writer the longer you've carried on with this dynasty. Supreme work bro, keep it up!

Injuries Continue to Plague Hoosiers in Upset Loss

Bloomington, IN - At 27th in the nation, the Indiana Hoosiers fans thought things could only get better as they prepared to face the Iowa State Cyclones, positioned at 0-3 and ranked below 100th in the country. A win would surely place them in the top 25. Except Indiana didn't win.

Ahead 17-0 early in the 2nd quarter, things couldn't go any better for the Hoosiers. They were demolishing the Cyclones in every way, shape, and form. As the Hoosiers were driving towards another touchdown, Jammone Chester was sacked and couldn't get up. As it would turn out, it's not a serious injury. But it did knock him out for the rest of the game, and it was up to Ben Chappell to lead the Hoosiers to victory. He failed. Miserably.

With Chappell at the helm of the offense, things just fell apart. The defense was shaken up with another offensive starter out, and they played poorly. Since Ben Chappell sucks, the offense was horrible as well. If both your offense AND your defense play poorly, you are going to have a tough time winning a football game.

When the 3rd quarter started, Indiana looked like they were actually going to hang on and win, as they forced the Cyclones to go three and out and punt. The Hoosiers, having no momentum after the 2nd quarter fiasco, still managed to drive down the field and kick a field goal to take a 20-7 lead. This was when the Hoosiers really started to fall apart. The defense gave up a Cyclone touchdown, and then Chappell threw an interception. Iowa State ran out the 3rd quarter, but ended up punting the ball away at the start of the 4th quarter. From there, it was a special-teams party. The Hoosiers and the Cyclones punted six times in a row, neither team gaining the upper hand offensively. Then, on 3rd and 21, Jerome Tiller bombed the ball 45 yards down field, where it was caught by an Iowa State receiver. The Cyclones scored later on that drive, and the Hoosiers couldn't get in field goal range. The final score: Indiana 20, Iowa State 21.

Indiana's hopes looked trashed, as they have to face Ohio State in Columbus next week. Good luck to the Cream and Crimson.

just gotta mention one thing. in my game stats, usually both teams' stats will be their own color. but since recently i've been playing other red teams, i've made their color black to signify the difference between the teams. starting 2 games from now, the game stats will be each team's color

Indiana Wins Game, Loses Player to Injury

Bloomington, IN - In the middle of a closely-fought game between the Indiana Hoosiers and the #3 Ohio State Buckeyes, Darius Willis absorbed a huge hit and landed on his right elbow. Suddenly, his whole arm went numb, and he had to leave the game. After further examination, it turns out he dislocated his elbow. He's out for the season.

The hit didn't look too painful. In fact, coach Thompson thought he was being a wimp when he signaled for the backup to be sent in. "I was like, 'Oh come on, you aren't hurt!'," he said this week. "I was practically screaming at him on the sidelines at how much of a pussy he was for wanting to come out of the game, but I agreed to send him to the trainer for an investigation of the injury. I didn't realize that he'd actually gotten hurt pretty badly."

The injury stopped the Hoosiers offense in its tracks for a brief period, as they couldn't score any points in the 3rd quarter. Meanwhile, the Buckeyes took advantage of the lack of Indiana offense and scored 16 consecutive points to take the lead 16-13 heading into the 4th quarter. From there, the Hoosiers took over the game. Especially Jammone Chester. "I felt like I was playing poorly," he mentioned to the press during the post-game show. "My throws were a little off, our running game sucked, and I couldn't scramble worth S***. But in the end, we won the game, so none of that matters."

But the player of the game was the special teams player, Mitch Ewald. Everyone in the nation knows he's one of the best kickers in the NCAA. But today he just took off, nailing 3 of 3 field goals (including a 52 yarder to end the first quarter). He also booted the game-winning field goal with 5 seconds left, giving Indiana its biggest win in recent history. In fact, he hasn't missed all year. "I'm lucky, I guess," was all he told us yesterday.

He's not lucky though. He's the best kicker of all time.

tough injury, i never understand how a dislocated bone can have someone out for so long, i be thinking that the doctor can just pop it back into place and everything is all dandy from there.

so far he is. i mean, he's only a sophomore. when he's a seinor, watch out. but i agree with you. my friend dislocated his shoulder during our bball tournament last year. they popped it back into place, and he had to ice it and keep it in a sling for about 3 weeks. there was some serious swelling, and the doctor wouldn't let him play, even though he was fine after about a month. of course, since it's only a middle-school tournament, who cares. he'll have many more games left in him.

Because when you dislocate something, it's not like it's just the joint and nothing else around it. There are ligaments, tendons, all that shit to deal with that gets fucked up when it gets all stretched out/ripped to shreds by the bone. Just sayin'
