Originally posted by TBMizLong-time reader, first time posting. I'm really digging what you have going on here. Tulsa there in the middle of the season will be a toughie, esp. with GJ Kinne returning at QB.

2010-2011 Team Preview
Quarterbacks
The Indiana Hoosiers QBs are led by Jammone Chester, the freshman from Redford, Michigan. One day during practice, coach saw Jammone tossing the ball around with Ben Chappell. "He threw like a quarterback," coach Thompson said. He had him try a day as the head of the 3rd team offense, and he tore it up. Immediately, he was moved to quarterback. But because of his red shirt, this season is his first time to display is throwing skills.
Running Backs
Deleon Eskridge, the transfer from Minnesota, is clearly the best back on the Indiana Roster. Only problem is, he has to sit out this season because of the transfer rule by NCAA; a player who transfers from one FBS school to another must sit out a season before playing. Out of the other backs, coach Thompson has showed more love for Darius Walker, the Sophmore from Indianapolis. A bruising back, it almost always takes 2 guys to bring him down. He's not very agile, but he makes up for it with his strength. Davis-Walker, on the other hand, is more of an option/receiving back. He can dodge tacklers all day, but if he runs up the middle bad things will happen. Both players will get playing time in week 1.
Wide Receivers
The Wide Receiver position for the Hoosiers is arguably one of the deepest positions that Coach Thompson has. They're top 5 receivers could all be starters at other schools in the country, but instead came to Indiana to try and turn this team around. Led by Damarlo Belcher (89 overall) and Terrance Turner (87 overall), these 6 kids will be the key to a successful season. And the receivers aren't only amazing catchers. Duwyce Wilson (86 overall, 3rd on the depth chart) is also one of the best return men in the country.
Tight Ends
Unlike the Wide Receivers, this group of kids may be the weakest link on a powerful Hoosiers team. The best tight end, Max Dedmond (78 overall), is the worst rated starting tight end in the Big 10. The Hoosiers don't have a lot of tight ends either. With only 2 guys to choose from, you have to live with whatever these guys do. If Martin drops 50 passes in their first game, too bad. Anthony Thompson has no one else to choose from. Let's hope the Hoosiers have a lot of tight ends being recruited.
Offensive Line (Starters Only)
The Offensive Line is also one of the bright spots on this Hoosiers team. Mike Stark is the team captain (86 overall) and all the other starters are above a 90 overall. Just like the wide receivers, if this position is bad, the whole team is bad. The Offensive Line is key on pass plays, run plays, and kicks/punts. In other words, they are the source of EVERY SINGLE good and bad play. A sack? The OL's fault. A bad run? Again, the offensive line's fault. Said Jarrod Smith, the starting Left Tackle, "Offensive Linemen have the most pressure of any position in the game. Every single play, we have to succeed. If we don't, the whole team fails. This is one of the best line's the Hoosiers have had in many years, which only adds to the pressure.
Defensive Line (Starters Only)
The Defensive Line is the youngest part of the Indiana football team, with two freshman starting. And of those two starters, only Steve Butler has started more than 10 games in high school. Butler started all 4 years of his career, whereas Rusty Roberson became starter halfway through his senior year of high school and played spectacularly. With the Defensive Tackles, Larry Black Jr. has never played in a college football game. Only Deonte Mack has a lot of college experience.
Left Outside Linebackers
Despite their low overall rankings, this position has some bright spots. Tim Alexander, the highly-touted freshman, was instantly named the starter as soon as he came onto the campus. "He has so much upside, it's ridiculous," said Coach Thompson. He's fast, he can tackle, and he's amazing at reading plays. He's injury prone and not very strong, but good off-season training has helped to fix that. Everyone else at this position? Eh, not so much. Malcolm Harvey is slow has hell, one reason is overall is so low, Darius Johnson has been here for 4 years and is STILL tied for the worst at this position, and Jeff Johnson just isn't very athletic.
Middle Linebackers
The strongest of the linebacker positions, mostly because of Tyler Replogle. The red shirt senior has an 85 overall. He's got the speed, the strength, the athletic ability, and the awareness. He's got the whole package. "He's one of the best overall linebackers that I've ever coached," said Anthony Thompson. Coming from a guy that's been coaching for a year, that's a nice compliment. Jonathan Green will develop into a great MLB near his junior or senior year, and Ian Reeves is a dependable backup. This position should be good this year.
Right Outside Linebackers
Indiana has THE WORST ROLB'S I'VE EVER SEEN! Kevin Tremblay is a pile of bullshit. He'd be a 3rd or 4th stringer at almost every other school in the nation. Even division 2 or 3. He's slow, he's weak, he can't tackle, and he can't play coverage. All he can do is hold a clipboard and give random signals to the QB in the hope of making the defense think he's giving Chester real plays. He's that hopeless. And Alex Harper and Damon Sims are even worse. My god, this position sucks.
Cornerbacks
The Cornerback position isn't deep. The starters are fine, but after them the quality of the players dips. The first 5 players are all at least an 80 overall, but the #6 CB (Joe Kleinsmith, 69 overall) and the #7 CB (Josh Hamilton, 58 overall) are just awful. Kleinsmith moved from SS to CB, as there was no need for him at Safety. Josh Hamilton is the worst-rated player on the Indiana Hoosiers, but that all comes with being an inexperienced freshman. But Donnell Jones (89 OVR) and Chris Adkins (88 OVR) make up for the lack of depth by being awesome players AND they never get hurt.
Safeties
The safety position isn't extremely strong OR deep, but it's at least respectable. Jerimy Finch makes up for what everyone else lacks. He's fast, has very high awareness, and can catch the ball. Tackling? Needs work. But Andrew Lagrone can make up for that. He's one of the top tacklers in the country. If these two can work together as defensive backs, the Hoosiers could be a force to reckon with on the defensive side of the ball.
Kickers
The Kickers for the Hoosiers are amazing. Mitch Ewald, Freshman Kicker of the Year and 1st Team All Big-10 last season, is back this year; he is stronger and better than he used to be, which is a threat to other schools and an advantage to the Hoosiers. Chris Hagerup is one of the best punters in the Big-10, but he almost never gets to kick because of how great the Hoosiers offense is. I don't know much about Jonathan Robsinon, but I dont' understand why he isn't being redshirted. He's not going to play at all this year, so he should be sitting on the bench at all times anyway.
