Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that Zack Snyder's Superman movie Man of Steel will be released in theaters on June 14, 2013 and not in December of 2012 as was previously believed.

No other films have been scheduled for that date yet.

Written by David Goyer and Jonathan Nolan, the anticipated film stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Christopher Meloni and Harry Lennix

I think they had to begin production by a certain date, which they did. I'm kind glad they pushed it back, seeing as how they rushed into production in the first place.

Not anything new for The Man of Steel, but a really cool deleted scene from Superman Returns. It visually bridges the gap of what Supes was up to in between his disappearance and Return.

Michael Shannon? Zod? The dude can't talk without looking like he's got a dip in his mouth. Zod was a well spoken man, who sounded like he had an elitist intellect. The best role I've seen Shannon play was a white trash jackass. And am I the only one who thinks he looks more like Non than Zod?



Gerard Butler should have been cast as Zod. Seriously, look at him, he's perfect for Zod.


I don't have any problem with Cavill other than he's only 6'1". I would really like the next Superman to be taller. More like Christopher Reeve tall, 6'4" range. Somebody like Jared Padelicki maybe. Cavill being 6'1" might be better to bulk him up, make him look more Superman'ish, but I'd like the next Superman to be iconic, somebody who looks the part on and off the screen. That's all I'm saying.

And give him a great actor for a villain. I'm no fan of Shannon.
