Even worse was Utley throwing that ball home when he had no chance to get Bonifacio at the plate on Morrison's double and letting the runner get to 3rd with less than 2 outs. Luckily Durbin was able to get out of it with the lead in tact.

I don't know why we're even talking about Kendrick. Who gives a shit about our 5th starter? When the playoffs come and we have arguably the best starting rotation in baseball, no one is going to give a crap about Kendrick as he MAYBE pitches as a long reliever.Comment

We're talking about him because if we keep trotting him out there in September he could possibly cost us a spot in the playoffs.Comment

The Phillies have really played some dumb baseball this year. Uncharacteristically stupid mistakes, it's really annoying. WTF was Werth thinking????Comment

Nice to be back in first. Let's hope it lasts the rest of the season.Comment

I really just meant that it's silly to discuss the merits of Kendrick at this point. You never know what you're getting from him, and I don't suspect he'll be getting the ball much more.Comment

Congrats Phils. It was nice to be in first place for the entire summer, but it appears we got a race on our hands now.
Braves are slumping hard at the plate and with Lowe banged up too our pitching is kind of thin these days.
I am not prepared to settle for the wild card, and I doubt the players are either. This isn't over.Comment

Race isn't over by a long shot. Braves obviously have the heart to take this down to the wire. I don't think this slump will discourage them, they've comeback time and time again in individual games, I don't think it'll be any different in the division race.
Only a .5 game and you guys have a game in hand on us too.
It's going to come down to the 6 games head to head. The experience will definitely favor the Phils, but I won't count the Braves out until we're 3 up with 2 to play.Comment
