Beltran looks more to be headed possibly to the Braves (led by a Minor led package and he's been getting hit lately), Rangers, or Red Sox.
I doubt Ed Wade does that deal after getting fucked over by trading for JA Happ last year. Also not sure what the LOL Vance Worley LMAO is for. 17 games pitched in the majors with a 1.91 ERA. I wouldn't want to deal him, but with Oswalt coming back and if Ed Wade was ready to trade Pence, I guess I would pull the trigger.

Your trading Hunter Pence, you DO NOT start with Vance Worley.

You start with Dom Brown, Cosart, Singleton, etc...those types

Then you say, you could throw in Worley...he's had great success but he's a #4 type at best.

I am willing to bet Singleton would be in the deal with something else too. I doubt it would be Worley for Pence. If Ruben is aggressive enough to get Pence, you will see Singleton, Worley and something like Freddy Galvis and Michael Schwimer. It's been said that the Astros want 3 players that are young MLB ready talent, Worley is obviously already up, Galvis could be up this year but is probably a year away, Schwim could be up right now and then you get the young future star in Singleton, I think that could possibly get Pence to the Phillies.

The Astros are such a mess though right now.

Trading Pence and you have what left? Nothing in terms of immediate impact.

In that case, maybe you ask for a Dom Brown...who could step in and hopefully become the face of that sad franchise right now. Though, I really feel Singleton could be a STUD, moreso than Brown...but then you are waiting 2-3 years for him to make an impact on Houston.

I would take Pence for Worley+ and if it DID happen, I would say it would be LOLAstros worthy. Worley is great just like Happ and Kendrick were in their starting seasons. Not to say I'm not liking what he's doing, but it's doubtful he'll be more than a 3rd or 4th with his stuff.

The Phillies are targeting Pence, but the price for him is rather high, writes CSNPhilly.com's Jim Salisbury. Houston would probably want a package that begins with Domonic Brown. The Phillies might also have to include another top talent along with him.

If the Phils could get Pence by giving Worley and spare Brown, I would be fine with Kendrick being the 5th guy when/(if?) Oswalt returns. That last point is my only real fear with losing Worley. I don't know WTF is going on with Oswalt, and I don't think that many people do, really. I'm worried he just doesn't want to play anymore.

Oswalt threw a bullpen session today, 50 pitches and they said he looked great. He was smiling and hopping around on the mound and even told Ruben and Charlie that he doesn't need a rehab appearance, he just wants to get right back on the mound with the Phillies. Ruben wants him to make a rehab start next week though and they will go from there, but it's looking like he will be back in two weeks.

Well that is certainly nice to hear. I worried after the shit that went down midseason.

Will be interesting to see how the Cardinals' Colby Rasmus situation unfolds. I don't think he'll get traded, but the guy is too talented to be sitting the bench. However, with Jon Jay outplaying Rasmus in every aspect of the game, the Cardinals can't justify playing Rasmus every day in center (nor in LF or RF with Holliday and Berkman). I like Rasmus, but he is reminding me of JD Drew more every day. May be time to trade Rasmus and hope that the deal works out as well as the JD Drew for Adam Wainwright deal.

We were talking about this trade in the cb last night. I said I don't want to do a Randall Delgado or Mike Minor trade for Rasmus because we already gave you Wainwright's entire career for one year of Drew. I'm not in a hurry to gift a stud young pitcher to St. Louis for another mercurial OFer.

Has Rasmus been benched, or is he injured? For some reason I read somewhere that he was banged up ...
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

                              He's been John Jay'd.

If Yonder Alonso is still a Red a week from today, I won't watch the Reds for the rest of the season.

Ok, that's a lie. But they better trade him, or I will definately do an angry backwards fist wave, or something.
