I'll concede. Offensively Peyton Manning played a very good game and executed the drag route/screen game very well. It was the other 10 guys fault they got crushed in the Superbowl and not Mannings in the least bit.

You're a dumbass and sounding like BroncoBlue.

You're starting to get it a bit more. Your post sounds a little bit better than before when you said "He played terribly. The majority of his completions were under 10 yards and A LOT under 5 yards." At least now you are starting to understand that his offensive line was getting blown up and his receivers were being covered deep.

        LOL what ever...

he has done things 99.9% of players will never do.

his career has brought changes to how the position is played..he has been to 22+? playoff games.

he has been to a super bowl with 2 separate teams and broken records at the age of 36/37.

he has come back from a career ending injury before even doing those things when he couldn't even throw in the front yard to his dad.....he has 5 freaking MVPs....who does THAT ?

his dad played many years of pro ball...his brother won 2 Super Bowls too..he is greatness, he's related to greatness, he oozes greatness from his pores .

his dad was friends with the back up QB who drove Archie's sons around and then had his own son named Andrew Luck !

Archie mannings sperm has been in 5 super bowls !

of course he won some big games. i didnt say he never won a big game...duh...but the fact is that he is 11-12 in the post season. he is 1-2 in SB...he has 8, 0-1 playoff seasons which include 99 when they were 13-3, 05 when they were 14-2, 07 when they were 13-3, 08 when they were 12-4 and 12 when they were 13-3....the other 3 seasons they were 10-6.....thats alot of one and dones for a guy playing on the best teams during the regular season those years.

Now, now, no trolling in the NFL Football forum. If you have something smart to say, please post it, otherwise keep it moving to The Locker Room.

This legacy talk is so stupid. The man is a Top 3 QB of all-time.. win or loss last night that wasn't changing.
i would give him top 3 easily...i might even rank him #2 all time.....but this is about him being called the GOAT

Yeah you're right, Manning looked truly great last night.

280 yards on 34 completions winds up being 8.2 ypc. Average QB's average around 11. 8 ypc is truly awful.

They could have tried a number of things but they didn't, I'll rewatch the game but I'd have to say maybe 75% of his passes had to be 5 yards and shorter downfield. Your excuse is cliche and just that, an excuse. when they tried to throw it deeper Demaryius actually made a catch (where he fumbled). But that was one of the only times they actually tried to push the ball downfield and what do you know it worked. Rest of the game was loaded with underneath routes and screens all game long.
The Broncos had no rushing attack to keep the defense honest. The offensive line barely gave Manning three seconds to throw, so those downfield throws weren't available. All they could do was the shorter passes, and with the Seahawks able to stack the box they eliminated any gains you get from short crosses, slants and screens.

It is really hard to have a high QB rating when possesions/touchdowns are taken away by your receivers and your offensive line lets four guys put tons of pressure on you almost every play.

Let's face it, if Thomas holds on to that football Manning likely has a touchdown on the next two or three plays.

So based off of yesterdays game you honestly think this is a safe assumption?

Yes. They would've been just outside the ten yard line. Three more 4-5 yard passes is a TD from there. Manning wasn't having trouble with those at that point in the game.

Aso my man, have some perspective on this. Manning was playing against one of the best defense's ever assembled. If he wasn't taking shots down field I'm gonna trust both Manning and the Seahawks defense enough to assume that there was nothing there. For some reason the image of Denver receivers running loose in Seattle's secondary only to be ignored by Peyton Manning, is hard for me to get in my head.
