Despite his outward calm, Jason Campbell is reportedly very unhappy that the Redskins tried to trade for Jay Cutler.

Once source says Campbell is "pissed" about the trade talks, but he plans to use it as motivation instead of throwing a public temper tantrum. Campbell's contract is up after the season, and the team is now kicking the tires on Byron Leftwich as starting competition.

Byron Leftwich visited the Redskins Friday.

Interesting timing. They met with the former Jaguar only a day after they failed to acquire Jay Cutler and on the same day they tried to calm Jason Campbell's nerves. Leftwich doesn't seem like a great fit for a West Coast offense, but he'd be a threat to Campbell's job if signed.

The Redskins have informed Byron Leftwich that he would not be competing with Jason Campbell for the starting job if he signs on with Washington.

Leftwich would play only if Campbell suffered an injury or was pulled due to poor performance. While Leftwich is a D.C. area native, he has let teams know that he would prefer to stay in Pittsburgh if he's not going to be afforded the opportunity to compete for a starting job.

The Redskins have reportedly signed LB Robert Thomas, formerly of the Raiders.

Thomas is better suited to a reserve role at this stage of his career, but he may be in the mix for the strong side job with H.B. Blades.

We need somebody better for the strong side, somebody thats big and fast enought to cover Witten. Marcus Washington was horrible at that. I would love to have any of the USC LB's.

Id love to get Cushing or the guy from Ohio State. I think Mamaula (spelling) is going to have some off the field troubles. I hope Ohel slides to us, because I dont want that goof from Alabama. SportsCenter last night said Smith or DE end from Tenn.

According to the Nashville City Paper, the Titans' final offer to Albert Haynesworth amounted to four years, $34 million with about $20 million guaranteed.

The Titans reportedly made the offer in January and never deviated too far from it. The Redskins deal was reported as seven years, $100 million, but it's realistically a four-year, $48 million deal with $41 million in guarantees. Either way, it blows the Titans' offer out of the water.

I would love to pick up Smith if he falls to the 13th spot. I think it would be the best thing for him. We have two old Alabama players and one is his ideal (Chris Samuels). Then we have Joe Bugel, one of the best O-line coaches in the league to whip him into shape. Smith had a couple bad months, but he was the best O-linemen in college fooball the past 2 years. If he would of came out last year, he would of been a top ten pick too.

                  Great job with this thread!!!

Thank you. I know Smith is a big boy and the Alabama thing went right over my head so maybe it can work with Samuels. I hope to HELL WE DONT DRAFT DIRTY SANCHEZ like the talk all weekend was.

Redskins signed restricted free agent DT Kedric Golston to a one-year, $1.545 million contract.

Golston will join Anthony Montgomery as more of a rotational defensive lineman this season now that Albert Haynesworth is starting next to Cornelius Griffin.

HERE IS A TID BIT. I mean if we were going after Cutler..........

According to the National Football Post's Michael Lombardi, the Browns have offers on the table for both Brady Quinn and Braylon Edwards and will likely move both players.

One team has reportedly made a standing offer of a first-round pick for Quinn, which the Browns will likely accept. They also have a package of at least a first-round pick on the table for Braylon Edwards, and Lombardi expects him to be dealt sometime this offseason. It's clear now that the Browns are in full-blown rebuilding mode after Phil Savage left the roster in shambles

My computer froze up when I tried to Post. LOL. Me personally Id rather get players then picks. You need a few picks to build but here is a bit of info

The Bears have 16 first round draft picks in the last 15 years. 1 player out 16 is a stud. Im sure you can figure out who he is. Id trade away a second if we had it for Ocho Cinco.
