    Redskins signed K Graham Gano.

Gano replaces Shaun Suisham, who was dumped after choking a 23-yard field goal against the Saints last week. Gano, who won the Lou Groza Award while at Florida State, was in Ravens camp this year but lost out to Steve Hauschka and landed in the UFL. You can do better for your fantasy kicker as Suisham ranked just 16th in field goal attempts this season.

Brian Orakpo lost snaps to H.B. Blades last week because the Redskins didn't want Orakpo defending Jeremy Shockey.

"It was for that game," said coach Jim Zorn. Orakpo was a defensive end in college and is still developing as an outside linebacker. Zorn admitted the No. 13 overall pick is wearing down, but Orakpo has had an excellent rookie season with 40 tackles and seven sacks already.

Albert Haynesworth aggravated his ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Saints.

This ankle problem kept him out of Weeks 11 and 12. He's in danger of missing the Week 14 game against the Raiders, but none of Oakland's backs are usable right now anyway.

Quinton Ganther rushed 14 times for 50 yards and two touchdowns and added three receptions for 43 yards to lead the Redskins past the Raiders in Week 14, 34-13.

This was a close game in the first half, but the Raiders never had a chance once JaMarcus Russell came on for Bruce Gradkowski. Ganther, a high-effort runner lacking breakaway speed, scored on a pair of 1-yard touchdowns in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach. The Redskins' new feature back is a RB2/flex against the Giants next week.

Jason Campbell completed 16-of-28 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns and added 20 yards on four rushes against the Raiders in Week 14.

Not so fast on Campbell being unable to salvage his Redskins career. Coach Jim Zorn is a goner after the season, but Campbell has played brilliantly over the past six weeks. Absorbing a ton of punishment behind a line that couldn't contain the Raiders' underwhelming front-seven, Campbell moved the offense and was a master in the red zone. Coming off three straight multiple score games, he's a high-end QB2 against the Giants next week.

Fred Davis caught three passes for 50 yards and two touchdowns against the Raiders in Week 14.

Davis has emerged as Jason Campbell's preferred red-zone target, hauling in the Redskins' first two scores going for six and 17 yards. With a score in each of his last three games, Davis is a TE1 next week against a Giants defense that allows the most fantasy points to opposing tight ends.

Santana Moss caught four passes for 58 yards against the Raiders in Week 14.

Moss tweaked his knee in the second half but never missed a play. A hard-luck fantasy play, he was stopped twice at the goal-line, leading to both Quinton Ganther scores. Unappetizing as a WR3 against the Giants next week, Moss has yet to top 75 yards since Week 3.

Devin Thomas was held to 38 yards on two receptions and added one rushing attempt for -4 yards against the Raiders in Week 14.

Targeted five times, Thomas was quiet outside of a 29-yard pass play that led to Fred Davis' second score just before the half. While there's little question that his role is increasing, Thomas is not yet a reliable fantasy option.

I know most of you dont care BUT.....

Redskins vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato has resigned.

The timing is strange, but this has been a long time coming. Cerrato has presided over some awful drafts, spent gobs of money on the wrong free agents and alienated the fan base. It appeared his friendship with owner Daniel Snyder made him bulletproof. The Redskins could be looking to make a play for Mike Holmgren or Mike Shanahan, but Jay Glazer of FOX reports they are already in talks with former Raiders and Bucs executive Bruce Allen.

                    HOLGREN OR SHANNY PLEASE

Redskins coach Jim Zorn said Wednesday that DT Albert Haynesworth (ankle) is "coming right along" as he prepares for Week 15.

It sounds like he will play against the Giants on Monday Night Football, which won't help Brandon Jacobs' matchup. Haynesworth practiced Wednesday.

Redskins RB/KR Rock Cartwright said Wednesday that he believes he's fallen into coach Jim Zorn's "doghouse."

Cartwright has lost his kick return duties to Devin Thomas and is being weeded out of the offense after a two-game stint as the Skins' primary back. Playing behind Quinton Ganther in Week 14, Cartwright saw just two touches.

Redskins signed LB Curtis Gatewood off the Steelers' practice squad.

Gatewood, a DE/OLB tweener, has bounced around to a handful of practice squads the past couple of seasons. He'll likely be limited to special teams

                            Redskins waived OL D'Anthony Batiste.

Batiste was signed off the Falcons practice squad a year ago, but he's been mostly a game-day inactive with the Redskins.

The NFL found no evidence of tampering by the Redskins when they signed Albert Haynesworth last offseason.

The Titans seemed resigned to losing their best defensive player last offseason, and Haynesworth actually turned down a bigger deal from the Bucs. The Redskins will not forfeit a draft pick.

Clinton Portis insisted Tuesday that the concussion which ended his season will not end his career.

"I don't think for one second it's going to be career-ending," he said, speaking publicly for the first time since questioning his future a week ago. He still has problems with the focus in his right eye. Though Portis questions whether he'll return to the Redskins next season, the potential cap hit and $6.4M guaranteed salary will likely keep him in burgundy and gold.
