yeah, I guess they are saying that Rampage/Rashad would be the next TUF coaches and Shogun/Machida for the title

I like it, doesnt put the title on hold for 8 months, Shogun/Machida is a great match up and Rampage gets to to his black on black crime angle

I got Shogun and Rampage in these 2 fights for a pride reunion showdown after that

It appears the bad blood between former light heavyweight champions Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and “Sugar” Rashad Evans will take precedence over the traditional format for the upcoming tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF).

Despite losing to Lyoto Machida at UFC 98 on May 23, Fighter’s Only is reporting that Evans — not Machida — will oppose Jackson, even though Rampage still has a pending showdown with “The Dragon” later this year for the light heavyweight championship.
If Rampage is still getting his title shot before doing TUF then I'm cool with that, since he was promised the winner in the first place. That'll be some BS if the UFC goes back on their word and forces him to do TUF instead, which will keep him out of action until 2010.

It was a verbal agreement after he has done many favors for the UFC, that's all.

From what I gather Rampage will get his title shot, and then do TUF.

Yeah that's what it sounds like and I'm hoping that's the case. That would be a darn good deal for the fans and for Rampage.

Before Machida won the belt, Rampage never wanted to fight him, not many did because of Machidas style, Rampage has gone on record and said that Machida is boring and thats not an interesting fight

I think Rampage wants to see Machida fight someone else and isnt in a hurry to fight Machida which is smart, might as well let Shogun fight him and see who is the champ after that

Shogun has been 1 of the best fighters in the last couple of years, he could have had title shot his first UFC fight, just like Fedor would get

I dont think Rampage really wants to fight Machida right now

Yep, it's official Rampage is actually passing on a title shot in order to fight Evans

Former light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has decided to not take up company president Dana White on his offer to try and pry the 205-pound title from newly-minted division...

hmmm strange rampage would pass up a title shot. i guess shogun is the only logical choice to get the fight now.

he doesnt want to fight Machida, atleast not yet, 'boring' is a code word for not wanted to lose to someone, or you havent figured them out yet

smart move, some guys at that level dont even care about the title, Rampage can make just as much if not more money by being on tv again, beating rashad than get a shot, it string out his career for more money making chances, but of course he has to beat rashad

he probably wants shogun to win so he can fight him again, he probably thinks he was on the juice in pride like wand

also remember, he didnt even want to fight Chuck that quick when he came to the UFC, thought he needed more time, he probably didnt like how Pride used fighters up with the quickness, he seems to be thinking more long term about his career now

And I agree with Rampage not wanting to fight Machida (right now); I read he chose to do TUF over fighting him. I'm hoping Rampage knocks Evans' block off.
shouldnt matter that much, people take to much into account what guys did there last fight, shogun has earned any shot he gets, he is 2-1 in the UFC coming off an injury and was a p4p fighter, only lose being to forrest who was just the champ a couple fights ago

just like everyone calling machida the best, he just won his first title hasnt even defended the belt yet and compare him to someone like fedor who hasnt 'lost' and has been the champ for over 4 years, doesnt make sense

MMA is the ultimate 'what have you done for me lately' sport and people dont remember the history of it, not really directed at you, just another rant

and lets be honest, the UFC's title shot thinking has no credibility or reason behind it, so to say anyone doesnt deserve 1 is silly at this point, especially someone like Shogun

Randy 2 straight KO losses at LHW, gets HW shot, Mir beats a 1-0 Brock and gets a shot, Brock beats Heath and gets a shot and so on
