Too bad Hall has one foot in the grave or Trips would be bringing back the Clique to run things in WWE.

Whatever level of "who gives a fuck?" that was in that Orton feud was all Christian, despite the WWE's best efforts for them to tell you, every step of the way that Christian is a bum. Even before the match, they had Edge put him over as the biggest bum possible.
Yet, they've always had good matches. Christian is a good in-ring guy for Orton...gets the best out of him.
Orton is still shit though.Comment

Kevin Nash... I can't stop laughing.
One can only hope this means a return of the 123 Kid is also coming soon.Comment

whatsthe deal is with Nash. I doubt they use him as a full time wrestler again, but it will be interesting to see what they do. It was a shock to see him because he hasn't been on screen since the Royal Rumble. Is he working on his own, for Del Rio, for Triple H or maybe even for Stephanie because she didn't like the way Punk talked to her? The possibilities are endlessComment

Stephanie McMahon had a heated backstage segment with CM Punk, was shown consulting with husband Triple H prior to the main event and was seen exiting the dressing room of former WWE champion John Cena.
(was this aired and a work or jsut a news report?)Comment

Unless I was REALLY not paying attention (and I really wasnt), this never aired.Comment

If she is back, Im going to really lose interest in the WWE again.Comment

Orton and Cena have been in the business just a hair under 10 years. They have 9 and 11 World Heavyweight Title reigns in that period.
In Ric Flair's first 10 years, he had the world title one time.
Damn.Comment

but did Flair carry it for years? I honestly dont know. I mean Hogan was the Champ for what like 5 years before losing.Comment

That's is affected a bit by how WCW bounced the title around in the late 80s to build up guys like Steamboat and Sting.
Comparing the WWE approach back then to WCW/NWA is a bit tough. The WWWF/WWF/WWE has always tended toward babyface dominance, whereas WCW/NWA moreso toward heels.Comment

Two "world" titles in one company, short attention span storylines thanks to monthly ppv and the attitude era, and you end up with shit like this, plus former "world" champs like Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger who get jobbed on tv every week. And then they wonder why the belts dont draw anymore.
Protecting the title should be simple and an effective way to draw money, but the ship has sailed and I don't think they can ever go back.Comment

It really is crazy.

I thought the first Punk-Cena match in the Summer of Punk would have done this...had Punk as the "Real World's Champion" running around, doing shows, claiming he's the champ. Do it for a month or two and bring him back and have that unification match. Let Punk win it and run with it. Have his "Best in the World" gimmick run with it, too...saying that this title is meant for the best wrestler in the world and he has it.
Instead, they have Punk win it, come back a week later, hot shot the unification match, have Punk win it, only to hotshot a Money in the Bank winner 15 seconds later.Comment

would you rather carry the belt around for like 3 or 4 years straight or hold it 10 different times throughout your careerComment

Title reigns don't need to be 3-4 years. Reigns over 1 year should be a rare exception. But they way they pass the belts around is ridiculous. They give them to midcard guys as a way to get them over, which devalues the belts even further. They take former champions and use them as midcard jobbers. When your recent list of former "world" champions includes Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger, something is wrong. They have guys win the belt and they don't treat them any different than before or after. They give the belt to a guy they know is hurt and will have to vacate it immediately. Its ridiculously.
A belt in wrestling is just a prop. Like almost anything else, it really only has the importance that you give it. But the WWE does everything possible to make their main two "world" titles seem unimportant. Its counter-productive.Comment
