I will be if we take a WR with our first pick tomorrow. I am really getting tired of Jerry Angelo trading 2nd round picks for 3rd and 4th rounders, I can remember him doing this shit countless times. Ramses Barden is a good choice for us, I really hope we can get him.

Stafford - Garbage. Probably not garbage, but I'm not even going to justify this. I've said what I thought about him before. Above average college QB at best, not even going to start, useless without an offensive line, better QB's next year, not as big of a need as OT, had multiple QB's who were terrible due to no o-line, less talented than Harrington out of college but with an even weaker offensive line now, David Carr-esque career coming up, etc etc etc etc.

Brandon Pettigrew - Grade: What the FUCK? So, we passed on Michael Oher, a guy whose job it is to BLOCK, for a TE who can do nothing but BLOCK? What the shit is this? He can't stretch the field, he's going to always have to stay in and block...this is the dumbest pick ever. Ever. In the history of the NFL. This isn't Kellen Winslow, this isn't Antonio Gates, this is fucking Jeff Backus minus 50 pounds.

Louis Delmas - I have no problem with Delmas, but I have a large problem with what was passed on to get him. Alphonso Smith, anyone? Delmas is a hitter who can't tackle. Yes, you heard that correctly. A hitter, not a tackler. He's a linebacker playing DB, but he doesn't have enough size to play safety and just hit people in the NFL. Why was Alphonso Smith not taken here? Is Philip Buchanon all of a sudden going to get good? No.

Fucking GARBAGE from the Lions on day one, more to come in day two when we take fucking Michael Johnson instead of D.J. Moore.

Edit: Also, I don't think Pettigrew is the best TE. This draft would look SO much better if you just substituted Oher into #20, and we grabbed Travis Beckum in round 3.

You really need to break out of your shell and tell us what you really think.

Damn right I'm pleased. We had a glaring hole in the secondary and we filled that hole real quick. Vontae Davis will be that #1 corner we've been severely lacking. Sean Smith is great in press coverage and will help out immensely against the big, powerful wrs.

I think every defensive coordinator shit their pants when we took Pat White. I wasn't certain that the Wildcat would be a big part of our offense this season but it looks like it's here to stay. Defenses had trouble stopping it with Ronnie Brown taking snaps. With White you got yourself a guy that can not only beat you with his legs but can kill you with his arm. Even before we took him I thought the kid was special and has what it takes to be a starting QB in the NFL. Top it all off with him being compared to Randel El as a WR, and I think we got ourself a great pick.

Day 1 = Success!!!!

You guys are really going to enjoy Vontae, he makes big plays, and never quits. He hits really hard, and was the most physical corner in the draft, I am glad he is going somewhere that he can step right into the # 1 corner spot, really wanted him to be on the 49's with his brother, or on the Saints, but at least he gets to be a # 1. He will be a leader for that defense in years to come.

Vontae Davis: Will be very solid and can not wait to see how he turns out.
Pat White: Dude has skills for sure and will beast in the wildcat. Just really did not like him at 54. Lol at Houtz etc saying he would not be there at 56.

Well interesting first round for the Lions today.

Stafford- Knew this was coming since January. I guess the Lions see something they like. Personally I don't think he's going to be bad at all. I think he'll end up being average or above average with a couple stud seasons.

Pettigrew- Don't really understand this to much. I guess we stuck to our guns by taking the best player available. Oher would've been fine if they wanted to go offense, you can never have enough offensive lineman. Only bad thing is he's a great blocker, makes no sense. You can get a good blocking tight end in free agency.

Delmas- Just happy it was a defensive guy. Nice to find out he's a hard hitter too. I wanted Maualuga but oh well, defense is defense.


I just don't get why they didn't address defensive line or linebacker with one of those three picks. To me, those were the worst part about the Lions last year. Taking the best available is great and all, but I mean a tight end isn't exactly going to change your team all that much. I think we should've taken Ziggy Hood or Peria Jerry at 20, but oh well can't change the past.

Loved the first pick...we'll see on the second pick...seems like overkill at the position on a team with a lot of holes. If we dump some of our fat on the OL, the second pick might be better.

Our head coach compared the drafting of our 1st rounder to the Colts pick of Manning back in '99 - needless to say I think he is a fucking moron and I'm not happy at all about the pick.

Not really happy with the trades McDaniels made. I'm ok with giving up a first rounder next year, but it's the Broncos first rounder, not the one from the Bears. That's bs. It should be whichever one is lower, and idk how we couldn't get a late round pick along with it. And trading away the two thirds is just stupid.

Oh well, I think all of the guys we picked will get a lot of playing time next year, so that is good. We signed 3 RBs and 3 DBs in free agency. We picked a RB and 2 DBs with 3 of our first 4 picks.

We took Pat White with the #44 pick. There's a reason we didn't risk taking him with our later 2nd rounder. He's a Fin, he's happy to be a Fin and he's going to take the Wildcat to the next level. It also gives us a back up plan if Henne were to fall through.

Then I realllllly don't like it lol. (dont like it at 44. I still believe he would have fell to 3rd round, but hey, I'm not an NFL Employee and am damn sure not as smart as Tuna lmao.) White has some nice skills and he will do good with Miami.

Stafford- Not my choice, but I can see a certain logic to it. Hopefully he doesn't step on the field this year. Hopefully we draft Duke Robinson with #65. Hopefully we grab a LT next year. Then he'd have a pretty solid OL, a great WR and a good TE (assuming Pettigrew works out). He should have a pretty solid running game behind that OL with Kevin Smith. Maybe it'll work out.

Still not my choice...I just didn't think he was that good.

Pettigrew- Good pick. Oher is lazy and he's an idiot, not a recipe for success. Nobody else seemed worth the pick, so take the BPA. He's a run blocker first, which helps our OL. More importantly, he finally gives us that safety valve and PA threat we haven't had this millenium. TE is the QBs best friend.

Run blocking, safety valve and a few PA's over the LB.

Delmas- Don't know much about him since I've never seen WMU play. Ever. Not bad from what I've read, though NE taking Chung makes me wonder if Chung is the better player.

We had the worst pass defense in NFL history last year, so it filled a huge need. If anybody, ANYBODY, thinks MLB was a bigger need just go pop in a tape of the Saints game. Or the Colts. Or any other team that had a passing attack.

NFL is a pass first league now.

I have a theory about all USC players. They all make each other look better than they really are. USC has so much talent that each player automatically looks better than he really is. With Leinart and Bush, teams would focus on Bush so much that Leinart would dominate, then when teams would focus on Leinart, Bush would run wild.

Same with their linebacking trio this year. Each one made up for the other one's faults. If Mathews wasn't strong enough to get some, Maualuga made the tackle. If Maualuga missed the tackle, Cushing or Mathews would be right there.

I am definitely pleased. In a draft were Belichick was not impressed with the talent, we were wheel and deal out of the first round, and still get guys that fit our system and our needs well. And we still have a shit ton of picks that we can hopefully package some for next year.

Meh, didn't think we'd go with Larry English, but he is a solid guy who should fit in well with our defense. Would have liked us to invest into a future RB like Beanie Wells or Donald Brown, but this pick was fine. Just happy we didn't get Rey Maualuga, he doesn't offer the ability to defend the pass, something we really need.
