Hey fool...Telling you I was a Bears fan was merely so you knew where my point of view was coming from.
Like that would matter to me? I don't care where your POV was coming from. Your defense for it was still idiotic.
People bash things all the time, they bash simply because they dislike the team or whatever the subject is. Sorry that was over your head.
It wasn't "over my head" it was a none issue. I think it's laughable you even brought it up. You being a fan or not doesn't make your point any more or less valid in my mind. The only thing that matters to me is your reasoning....which you showed none of.
I am a Bears Fan that thought that last years team was anything but good.
Who said they were "good"? Show of hands?
In my world you are either good or you are crap.
Ha! Ok, I'll remember that for the rest of your posts on this message board. You backpedal worse than Lemuel Stinson.
Your grasp of the English language is "crap" then.
As far your response, just because you use a lot of words, doesn't mean anything. Nothing you said proved that they weren't a crap team. As a matter of fact you proved it. You bring up guys that barely classify as good!
Actually I did prove they weren't a "crap" team. I proved they were perhaps right around an average team. A crap team is the Browns, Rams, etc. Not a 9-7 team that was a game out of a playoff berth.
You said they were a good team because they had a great RB, good TE's and a very good o-line.
Forte did have a great season. I don't think it's stretch to say that Olsen and Clark paired together is a "good" TE combo, and last years OL did play very well.. Far above expectations held for them before the season.
I agree. And really the "good or bad" threshold thing doesn't really work in the NFL. In the NBA it does but the NFL, like the MLB has very unpredictable playoffs. Basically, we saw a slightly above average team last year vault their way into the Super Bowl and almost win the damn thing. So you really can't say "they are either good or bad" because I certainly wouldn't consider the Cardinals of last year a really "good" team. They were decent enough to get into the playoffs in a bad division and made the most of their opportunity in the playoffs.
So, no the Bears weren't "good" last year, but they weren't crap. They, as FT said, went into the last game with the chance at the playoffs and in the NFL that's a definite accomplishment.
Thank you, excellent post. Finally someone with at least a 3rd grade education responds with something sensible.
Crap:
Slang: Sometimes Vulgar.
a. nonsense; drivel.
b. falsehood, exaggeration, propaganda, or the like
They were a falsehood and an exaggeration. All year they lead you to believe something and in the end it was somthing else...crap.
Then it's an idiotic subjective argument. The Bears never lead me to believe they were anything more than they were because I knew all along they were an amazingly average football team. Just because they tricked your dumb ass into thinking they were something more than they were doesn't make them crap, it just makes you foolish.
Orton did a great job while he was in Chicago and never received the credit he deserved.
That is my stance.
Whoa whoa whoa......Where did all this "great" stuff come from? I thought there were no degrees..Only "good" or "crap". Nothing else. :eviltongue:
