i still use them...alot. And they work just as good as they did pre patch. But i agree.........i am seeing them less

you guys should try HC HQ....its not boring at all. we went the full 20 in a game last night. ended in a 195 all tie. 3 of our guys had over 70 kills. i was lucky enough to be one of them. Glad i wasnt the guy who took 95 deaths. lol

my fav mode is still HC S&D.....i would think alot of people would find that even more boring

(Just kidding, don't get butt-hurt). My girlfriends brother plays that shit all the time. I just don't get the draw. I've seen him win 3 games in a row without seeing a player of the other team. *yawn*.

Maybe if you had a good group of guys who used some actual strategy it could be alright.

it was the mode that hooked me to shooters. Back in Rainbow six vegas 1 when we played online we used to play a type of deathmatch that didnt allow respawns. So there was a premium on playing smart which i really enjoy. Play any mode on COD and its all camping or run and gun....and thats cool, but S&D provides you the ability to play smart. My goal is to not die at all while winning the round.

i had my best round the other night going 15-0 on wasteland. I joined in the 2nd round. The killstreaks carry over too. I got my chopper gunner and used it in the final round and killed 4 of the 6 players to end the match....good times

My grip against the softcore gameplay is that it's basically, shoot an assload of bullets into someone and hope it kills them. Prefer to have the one good shot, and they're dead ability. Plus, I hate how my gun is usually empty by the time I get to the 4th kill.

Way back in the day I used to play Rainbow Six on the PC (hmmm, don't remember what edition...covert opts maybe? The disk was red). This way back before console FPS was anything.

The game didn't even have respawn mode, it was all S&D, but camping wasn't nearly as prevelant. I have a few theories as to why

--Consoles let a lot more bad players play (just the nature of the beast), out of survival they camp.
--MW2 has some huge maps which make it really time consuming to hunt out campers.
--People are less chatty during FPS then they used to be. Probably because more 8 year olds, and more douche-wad college kids play (see point #1) which make it pointless to talk on the mike. But because of this, it's a lot harder to organize a search.

That's why I had such high hopes for Operation Flashpoint. It wasn't going to be a draw for casual gamers and I was hoping for more organized games. That did happen, a lot more people talked and there was some good strategy....

To bad the games online service absolutely shit the bed.

I have seen absolutely no difference with the Akimbo 1887's. I questioned IW and 402 via twitter on what exactly was balanced. And to no surprise, I haven't received any reply.

So snipe and stfu. If there is one thing I hate about this game it's the HC people thinking they're in some ivory tower. There's a reason only 10,000 play the goddam game mode, that's because it's like watching Master and Commander.

In hardcore, its not one "good" shot. Its simply one shot. And it just instigates heavy camping. Because you know, if you're playing hardcore, you're going to die if shot at. Hardcore search and destroy is where I find the most strategy. But fuck hardcore headquarters and team deathmatch.

the range is different, me and my cousin tested it in private match..not a big difference but hey its something

i respectfully disagree. i honestly dont see any difference in the range at all. The only thing i could say they did to the 1887 is make it a tad inconsistent. Meaning that sometimes at point blank i will mysteriously miss the enemy where in the past that would never happen.

the more an more i play this game i feel like IW doesnt have a game where a good player can beat a bad player. I feel like the game places an advantage on the team who is suffering. Basically providing what i will call a boost to the team thats losing. Its just a theory and i have no basis for this other then what i have seen in my 7 days of online gametime

sniping on core mode is not the same as HC mode. you have the cheesy kill cam that gives away your position. i prefer hardcore, but i dont knock people who play it. i just wish they had every gametype in both hardcore and soft core modes

I would tend to agree on the moving around part, but if im playing with a bunch of random people on my team, and nobody is around to cover me when im ready to move, there is no way in hell im going to move. There have been times where ive shot 2-3 people and get up to move and get popped by someone who was behind me unaware of me being there.

Played last night in a game where two guys who were always on the other team just ran around using Commando, Marathon, and the tac knife for every game on every map.

Stuff like that really kills the game sometimes. There's really no skill involved in that at all IMO, same with just running around with akimbo 1887's.

there is nothing wrong with camping. There is no rules in MW2 and nothing wrong with people who camp. IMO, most people who complain about something within the game do so because they can not over come it. I am willing to bet that people who dont like camping are the same people who continuously get owned by a camper in the round. You know the guy....he is the guy who gets killed once and then goes right back to where the kill cam showed him where the camper is hiding.....then gets killed again.....and again.....and again. Of course the camper is smart enough to move from one corner in the area to another and is smart enough to know how to beat someone.

you also said sniping in your eyes means moving around. If you look up the word sniper i think most definitions would show a picture of a guy pitching a tent......i never heard of a sniper who moves around. He may move in a general area, but the whole point to sniping is to camp an area and wait for the enemies to show up for his kills.

Knife only takes a lot of fuckin skill. Try to finish with a good score using only the knife.

I think there is a difference between tactical game play and camping an they get mixed up a lot.

Camping to me means sitting in a dark corner with an automatic gun or a shot gun and waiting for people to come by. IMO it's not camping to either have a sniper rifle or an automatic weapon and tactically work the perimeters of maps or be in a room and cover all sides.

Camping to me is sitting in Underpass in the weeds for the whole game or in dark corners for the whole game really not doing anything but shooting anyone that moves by you and really not doing anything tactically to move around the map at all.
