In all likelihood, he was asked about it by the media (who no doubt noticed Bryant's refusals) and Roy obliged them with an answer. Having been around Roy when he was at Texas, he's a pretty fun-loving guy who jokes around quite a bit, so I doubt his comments were entirely serious (or at least serious in a joking manner).

Either way, Bryant is already acting like a primadonna, which he was known for at Okie State. Let's hope he isn't another TO in the locker room.

2nd Team Academic All-Big 12 means he had between a 3.0 and a 3.2 in his major, Education. With the amount of tutoring and "help" he and most athletes get, this is hardly an indicator of intelligence.
