I don't even think about it unless I have ESPN on and they start talking about it. And then i'm like "oh yeah, this is still happening. huh".

This is actually a nice change of pace, not having to suffer through mundane training camp "news" and footage of guys jogging in shorts/helmets. We all know they will be lining up Week 1 anyway.

The worst part of the lockout, is for the first two or three weeks of the season, every time there is a fumble or missed tackle, people will go on and on about how the lock out is resulting in sloppy play. Yawn. But that will stop after a few weeks, and by Week 6 or so nobody will care about or remember the lock out.

Psh. Worst part is having to read stories about my team's receivers being kicked out of malls for having baggy pants or suing some gold digging whore to get back an engagement ring.

Would much rather hear about mundane training camp shit than that.

The NBA lockout is much more interesting, because 1) it shows once again that David Stern is the biggest fraud in sports history, and 2) there is actually a chance that the upcoming season won't take place.

The NFL stuff is just lame-ass posturing. We could have f16harm represent the owners and Pitty represent the players, and a deal would STILL get done.

1. Without a div1 alma mater how does 1 choose what teams to follow ?
2. Even if you become a fan of a player they will be gone in a few years.
3. Still no championship game.

1. Same way you pick a team in the NFL...either local or a team you grew up liking or just throw a dart at wall.

2. There is a new batch of players coming in every year. The greats are truly legends in only 5 years and there is another guy there to take your interest.

We didnt miss a game, a fantasy football draft or the NFL Draft. What you do see though during these times are the players that care about themselves and dont show up to workout with the rest of their teams.

The only care I have about the lockout is that it has the potential to take away my ability to watch my favorite professional sport. Aside from that, I could do without the seemingly incessant reports on the negotiations, and I've ignored them for the most part.

I don't care who gets the damn money. Athletes are already compensated way outside of what I would considered a normal salary and owners are douchbags, trying to hoard more than they need. Owners should pay players less, take less money, and let a family go to the fucking football game without paying $80 bucks for nosebleeds plus $20 for parking and another $50 in food and drinks. Unbelievable they are arguing over "what is only fair" when the treatment of the fans IMO isn't fair.

College > NFL

I hate it when people try and tell me that the "better" football is played in the NFL. Uh, so? Its a ridiculously homogeneous league. The difference between the leagues worst and best is minimal and yet, they both play the same general offense and defense. It just makes for a really dull game most of the time. How many games are truly worth watching during the regular season on a per week basis...1? 2?. And the whole game lacks a real personality at this point. The personality is that boring ass NFL shield...not the players or the plays or the teams or even the fans (that used to be really different and fun all their own like the college game).

At least in college I get a multitude of matchups, a bunch of varying style mashups, and more personality to the whole thing. The NFL is like if the entire landscape of college football was the Big Ten. Unfortunately, only part of the college game is the Big Ten.

I think this is the case when you don't have a team that you root for in the professional league or in college, but if you do, I'd say NFL>college. I don't want to watch my team pound akron or citadel 66-0 in some games. Cleveland games have become incredibly boring for me being a Steeler fan of late for that reason. Also, most of the great teams cheat to stay ahead, and a lot of undefeated teams play no one worth mentioning.

Take Virginia Tech for example, every year they win their division simply because it is shit and they play no one good outside the conference, yet they still get to hoist an orange bowl trophy once in a while( which means nothing, but people treat it like its something), and when they do play someone top 10, they lose, but it doesn't matter because they can claim to an orange bowl and acc championship. I don't like the gimmick offenses that can work in college when you can throw 80 times a game and still win. If it had a championship, I'd say they'd be equal, but as of now I like NFL better.

Im not bitter one bit, what really did we miss. No games were missed yet and a deal will be done next week. Now if games were cancelled (other then preseason) id care, but we didnt miss a thing.

And Im not a racist, the guy that cuts my grass is black and two mexicans painted my house last week.

Aside from the FA news for those 2-3 days after FA starts, no not really. The offseason for the NFL is relatively dull anyway.. nothing has changed.

The CBA will be agreed upon next week and we will just have a crazy flurry of free agency in July as opposed to March. Not overly concerned about any of this.

How can you say the NFL is filled with games that are dull and talk up college football, you know, the system with 8,000 exhibition games at the end of the season and a championship game that's filled mostly with controversy and overall bullshit about the teams that didn't make it over the teams that did?

Yeah I get it.. Bills-Lions probably isn't a very appealing matchup. But thats sports. Every league has bottom dwellers playing other bottom dwellers.. or championship caliber teams playing bottom dwellers here and there. But I can't think of a sport with more meaningless games in it than college football (aside from college basketball probably, and even then come February and March it's filled with dramatic/awesome games). The system created basically makes it to where if you lose a game.. you're out of the championship chase unless your name is "Texas" "Alabama" etc. How's that not dull after awhile?
