i have a hard time seeing this go full digital.
take next generation for example, you HAVE to buy the console which means gamestop/target/walmart/amazon has to sell the console, which they are going to want to sell alongside accessories as well as video games. otherwise theyll sell digital downloads gift card style where you punch in a code on your ps4 or something. i have an extremely hard time seeing video games go the the way of full fledged digital because you have to continually buy new hardware every 7 years or so

Like Bucs said, not being able to trade your shit in or even take over a buddy's house is ridiculous. I hardly ever trade games in but there are a lot of people that can only afford new games because they trade in their old stuff. So much for that. So for all of the used game sales they are curbing they are probably losing just as many customers.

I dont know when these game developers are gonna understand Console gamers are a different breed. We want a phsical copy because to us its an investment, and when you put out a game like elite 13 and we but it, not being able to sell it meens we get zero out of your games. I would like the digital era more if it wasn't forced upon us. I download plenty of games now but there are some, like Madden and BF3, that I want to have a physical copy of to take to a friends house on occasion. To make me fully support it, there would need to either be a reduction in the cost of the game ($10-$15 maybe?) along with the option to still order a disc or allow you to burn your own backup from the download (which will never happen).
