no! but there will be sales like there is now............any physical media is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Sounds like you never used the Steam or Origin Service.....

I have a few Origin and Steam games. I like not having to keep moving disks in drives. But I still want to be able to backup the install program and files to a media so I can install and uninstall anytime I want w/o relying on Steam and Origin to keep accurate records. I had a couple of digital download games from some service, and a couple years later I wanted to reinstall and play them again. The games didn't show up in the digital download service, they lost that info. I had to go through their customer service and prove I owned the games. I was lucky doing a email search and found the order numbers and activation keys. I just needed to install the games.

yeah well if the service sux then it wont work. Steam, origin and Battle.net do it right. Well Origin can be a bit annoying. I went into my WOW account after like 5 years of being dormant and it was hacked....I called Blizzard and in like 5 mins everything was fixed and back to normal. They gave me 30 free days of WOW.....which i played once with that card...lol.

You don't even need to download in some case. Install your game onto an external usb HDD and take it wherever you want. I recall in college plenty of people bringing those into the library and playing WoW all fuckin day.

flash drives are even better. most games are less than 10 gb and flash drives are pretty cheap now. I got a 32 gb for $12. i ended up not even putting a DVD drive in the kids PC because anything i need to put on comes off the flash drive. the disc is useless. Games can all be DL or they come in iso format

Pretty much.

I have all my steam games backed up on a couple back up drives just in case I ever want to reinstall and play them and not worry about having to redownload everything. You just copy the files from the steam folder and it will download whatever is missing later on (or if there's updates)
