I really don't think the issue is Melo, but instead the roster as a whole. Shumpert has to step up and the rest of the roster is just full of marginal role players at best. They shouldn't have given the money to either Stoudamire or Chandler. Chandler is decent at what he does, but the issue is that the Knicks style of play puts too much pressure on Melo to have to score 30ppg at a good efficiency. At Chandler's price you should expect a player to have a greater influence on the game offensively and defensively. However. we all know Chandler can do is rebound and defend. They could use a solid and consistent second scorer, but it appears Shumpert and JR are better suited as #3 or #4 options and Stoudemire really isn't much at this point.

Woodson could also help by actually running some plays that make the game easier for everyone including Melo.
