I don't understand how in one breath, people said the Knicks won't do shit this year, yet they win 54 games get into the 2nd round and now the season is suddenly a failure? Give me a break, no one expected ANYTHING out of this team....they started winning expectations became crazily unrealistic

Who thought The Pacers were going to be a cake walk tho? They busted our asses doing the season and it carried over into the playoffs.....only Knick fans with the rose colored glasses on, thought we'd get by the Pacers easily....Woodson never had the answer for them, but like I said, Chandler failed us big time....Hibbert destroyed his ass

The fact that JR really didn't show up in this series hurt but like Rhude said, having CHandler getting his ass handed to him by Hibbert hurt more. He simply owned the paint and controlled what the Knicks did in the series..they couldn't drive to the hole with how well the Pacers played defense and when they did, the Pacers did not make it easy.

People crazy talking like this season was a failure for the Knicks....I mean look at our roster, before the season started NOBODY predicted they'd win 54 games and be one of the top teams in the East......we were too old remember?.....how ironic is it that Chandler who's not that old is the one who got his ass busted by Hibbert.......that's the main reason why we lost this series, because our center got his ass handed to him on expensive china.....yea losing to the Pacers was disappointing but the team did make progress this year, everyone seems to forget that.....and did you honestly think this team was going to win a title? I sure didn't, but I'm pleased at what they did squeeze out of Melo and his old teammates.......this was a very flawed roster to start with...if you told me back in October we'd get 54 wins and make it to the 2nd round with this roster I would've asked you where do I sign... ...the key for the Knicks organization is how they handle things going forward because we have little to no wiggle room......they will have to get extremely clever and that concerns me more than anything because we all know the word "clever" and "NY Knick brass" are not exactly synonymous in the same sentence

My question is where do they go from here? Melo is Melo at this point, Shump will continue to improve, but what else? Kidd and Camby signed three year deals. Even if JR comes back, he's still gonna be a headcase. Who the hell knows what we're gonna get from Amare? Felton and Chandler... meh.

But wasn't this season about getting another shot at Miami in the conference finals? That's why it's a failure to me.

The Knicks have a very short window. We don't know if Carmelo will opt out after next season.

I wouldn't say the Knicks had no expectations. I remember the thought being that they should at least win 50 games and as the season progressed the expectation went to being in the conference finals. I wouldn't call it a disappointing season, because the Pacers are simply a team with better players and better coaching.

Amar'e was KONY when he first came here.....been all downhill for him coinciding with Melo's arrival, but he's had some terrible fortune including the death of his brother......before he got injured again he was becoming a certified problem for teams off the bench as he was playing well.....I still have a soft spot for the guy because he came to NY first and started the revival......

watching the NYKs was great this year.
much better than PRiley or Van Gundy days/teams, IMO.
they werent winning a ring those 2 teams anyway, lol. we know that now, i am pretty sure we knew that then.

we need a true post up player and we need to start focusing on defense.
its that simple.
we lost to the Pacers because defense nothing else. i aint gonna blame Melo one bit.
if wasnt for him, we wouldnt have even been in that game 6.

Oh hell no. The 90s Knicks were tough & brought the 'D' every night. Yeah, they were ugly on offense, but they had heart. They won tough playoff series and made it to two NBA Finals. That's more than these current clowns have done. You think Lance Stevenson would have driven down the lane on the old Knicks and not paid the price?

Oakley would have beheaded Stephenson and he would've stayed his ass 35 feet away from the basket for the rest of the game

Oak also would've told Chandler to get his head out of his ass and guard Hibbert

Thank you! Ok, they never beat Jordan, but those cats gave us great playoff memories against the Bulls, Pacers and Heat.

If there's one thing I want to see from these Knicks, it's toughness. I'm sick of teams pushing the Knicks around, especially Chicago & Indiana.

Even for the Knicks, the fact that they even entertained trading Shump was just ludicrous.......both Cope and Shump have their heads on straight....it took Copeland a long time to make it to the NBA so you know he works hard
