Last night.

, if the Celtics bounce back and take game 2 in strong fashion, my point is made...however, if it's a very tight close game, then it's quite apparent that the Bulls matchup very well with the Celtics.

Some thoughts on last nights game:

-Vinny, what the hell are you doing burning up timeouts left and right?

-Vinny, what the hell happened to running plays for Rose in the 2nd half? I understand Gordon was hot but come on. Rose was getting around Rondo whenever he wanted and they barely every called a play for Rose to get to the basket.

-Brad Miller had 16pts and 11rebs..........and 4 of the teams 11 TO's. Honestly how this guy stays on the floor is beyond me. All he can do is hit spot up jumpers. That's it. If he has to move or take a dribble it's embarassing. The guy can't even get out of his own way and I swear to God is the slowest basketball player I have seen in my entire life. I can't recall the last time I saw him drive to the lane and not fall over his own feet.

It almost seems as though Vinny gets more distraught then his team. I think he took one of his last time outs when the Bulls went down by 1 pt with 2 minutes left to play. For what? To draw up a play for Gordon when you could have just called one from the side? I turned to my fiancee shaking my head just saying "Let the game play. Let it happen."


Vinny seemingly doesn't have much trust in his team when they get behind. It amazes me the patience Paxson has shwon with Vinny all season and his handling of Rose. Rose is one of the most even keeled, level headed players I've ever seen, for any age and Vinny treats him as though he's mentally fragile and takes WAY too many timeouts. I wonder if Vinny is calling the timeouts to settle himself down?


Noah's miss was horrible. If he goes up with two hands or pump fakes and makes a solid power move he converts that or at worst goes to the line for a pair of FT's. Instead he'd tried too much and tried to throw it down one handed and missed badly.

Has there ever been a more pathetic bigs match up across the board in a playoff series? Noah/Thomas/Miller vs Davis/Perkins? God Almighty. All of those guys suck or are past their primes. It's just big lumbering guys throwing their weight around and slim atheltic bigs flailing around with no real purpose. Ugly ugly post play.

When you're missing your all star post player, you usually don't have a lot of all start post players on reserve. What's Chicago's excuse?


On that note, I disagree slightly. Davis is actually very good offensively, and is extremely light on his feet considering how big he is. Davis is actually almost as good as KG offensively, it's just when you ask him to step into Kevin's defensive shoes that there are problems.

Trying to figure out the point of this post? Davis and Perkins suck. Miller, Thomas, and Noah suck. Just getting pissy because I'm ripping on a Celtics player(s)? Not sure how having Garnett excuses Davis or Perkins from being turds.

Chicago doesn't have an excuse. They drafted shitty bigmen. Simple enough.

FT, you're discrediting Big Baby.. hes played GREAT in this series, no question about that. Without Big Baby the Celtics arent even in either of those games.

Miller had some BRUTAL TO's last nite but outside of that his play was very solid. He was hitting his shots so Vinny had to keep him in. Noah has also played pretty solid the first 2 games, minus his BRUTAL miss in the last minute last nite. That was ugly.

Infact.. all those bigs have played pretty nicely considering their status as players. You'd think Perk would step up the D a bit but other than that.. Tyrus had 5+ blocks last nite, hit a couple big jumpers in game 1.

Bad players can still have good games. jesus, look at some of the game Noah and Thomas have had for the Bulls at times. 2 games does not wash away a pile of crap.

Tyrus flies around to block shots. With his leaping ability and athleticism he should block 4-5 shots a game in his sleep.

Plus Ty always slays bum ass post players. Look at what he did vs KG and look at what he does when he's not there.

i actually like big baby on defense in short spurts, but leave him out there in teh role he's playing now and he gets exposed. Against bigger defenders Baby puts up a good fight because he has really good leverage, and he can knock down the mid-range J..you can't knock him, he's made such a vast improvement.

Big Baby needs to chill on the jumpers tho. If he can utilize that shot fake and drive to the hole (especially on Tyrus Thomas who leaps at the blink of an eye) it will really improve his game in the future and in this series.

Uh no. I was simply pointing out that regardless of a good spurt over the course of a game the post play still blows. Davis hitting jumpers has nothing to do with post play. The play in the POST has been awful and ugly.

Didn't know KG was even playing. His knee must be healed if he can "step up". Last I heard he couldn't even run.

What? You've told me about 19ft jumpshots. 19ft jumpers are not "post play". I pointed out when I first brought it up that all Davis and Perkins do is lower their shouler and slam into people and near the rim Thomas and Noah just flail around.. Jesus Christ. Miller accounting for over 1/4th of his teams TO's is not a "solid game".

The play in the post has been disgusting. No post moves. Just lower your shoulder, miss a bunny. Get the rebound. Miss a bunny, get the rebound put back.

Noah and Thomas is fly in out of control and put up shot and pray. Leap wildly at rebounds swing with one hand and try and back tap. That's it. Noah isn't even capable of blocking out PP. It's bad.

I gave you stats. Numbers. Numbers do not lie. 6 blocks, against KG or against Glenn Davis, does not lie. If you think 6 blocks, and 16 and 9, is bad play, then I dont know what to tell you. If you think 22 and 9 is bad play, then I dont know what to tell you. Take your "ugly play".. give me the numbers that add up to baskets.

Brad Miller's 4 TOs dont necessarily translate into post play either. But its play from a post player. Yeah, Vinny wont be happy with 4 TOs, but how can anyone possibly think 16 and 9 is poor play? Without Miller's contributions you guys arent in the game, simple as that. Without Tyrus Thomas' blocks the Celtics might score an extra 12 points. The most glaring example of poor post play was Noah missing the easy layup in the 4th Q, but theres also no denying how well he played in the 1st game.

Maybe we're watching 2 different games.. these guys arent the best off offensive players in the post, no doubt.. but especially for the caliber of players, they have stepped up to play well.
