I thought your skills developed as you used them? So you couldn't you become really good at both weapons and magic?

I don't know for sure but I'd assume it was like other TES games where eventually you stop progressing?

I can't imagine you can max out all attributes?

Never really been a fan of the "jack of all trades" character builds because then you get bogged down carrying gear to support everything as well as characters like that just don't traditionally exist in this genre. Don't want to be running around in full plate throwing fireballs from the shadows, lulz.

I have never played Oblivion(but I liked Fallout a lot) and only recently started looking into this game. HOLY SHIT. The advanced classes I take this year give 2 hours of homework per night. That shit will have to wait after I get my nightly Skyrim fix

I'll probly roll with what I did in Oblivion, first a nightblade type: sneaky, mage with light armor and sword and shield followed by a nord badass with a big fuckin axe

what kinda character u playin as?

if youre a warrior, rush em in between fireballs and block or dodge (run serpentine).
if youre sneaky, shoot the fuckers with a decent bow before they know youre there.
if youre a straight up mage, i hope you have an ice spell.

even as a warrior, i sneak around oblivion until i get caught to try and avoid getting overwhelmed by numbers. if it still isnt workin for ya, you can always turn down the difficulty

Skyrim started just after that.

I'd wager that in 5 years and 8 months, there's enough polish put on this game that your car is going to shine while driving home from the store when you pick it up.

I chose a wood elf archer, but am almost out of steel arrows, only got 3 left.
At what point in the game did you all start deviating from the main quest? After the sewers? After the first Oblivion gate?

After the sewers, once you enter the world it's do whatever the fuck ya wanna do.

It's probably best to follow the main quest for the first hour or two, by doing so you'll stumble along some side quests and then your options open.

Visit the Mage Guild and Fighters Guild to join those and get those quest chains going. You can head to the Arena and start to compete there.

If you want to join the Dark Brotherhood...

 

Kill an innocent. You'll do it along your gameplay eventually so it'll happen naturally.

If you want to join the Thieves Guild...

 

Ask around, become friends with the poor in the Imperial City.

That should get you going in a few different directions. Just talk to people and you'll be on your way to all sorts of wacky shit.

Also go pick up them arrows homie. When you kill something, you can usually loot the same arrow off of that body. You can usually do it a few times before it breaks and u can't use it anymore.

Last I recall I had just finished the Knights of the Nine and told myself I wouldn't start Shivering Isles till I was at least level 15. THEN I finally get to do the Dark Brotherhood quests again. :fap:

I chose bosmer cause I'm saving my mage character for Skyrim, always have been a fan of archers in rpgs though
