Some recent impressions.

Bethesda held a speed run competition for it's employees. Game was beaten in 2 hours and 16 minutes.

:yep:

It came down to 2 employees whose times were only 15 seconds apart from each other. The amazing thing is that they went 2 completely different routes.

I'm a little worried...

I didn't play oblivion and am not a huge fan of RPG's, but it just looks beautiful. I love the scenario and graphics. UGH.

The speedruns of Oblivion were done in about half the time of Skyrim's speedruns if that means anything

That's a little better considering my friends who are big oblivion fans played it for 3+ years and put countless hours into it.

Still on the fence since I've always been a multiplayer guy.

I've heard and it looks so dope. I just don't know if the fun Skyrim brings is the type of fun I like. We'll see.

Not necessarily.

If I recall the Fallout 3 speed run, they took off from the starting vault and went straight to see your father or whatever.

There's absolutely NO WAY a player would know to do this, thus that speed run isn't possible on a first playthrough.

So it's not as if the main quest is only 2 hours, they simply knew where to go to complete the game story.

The people that did the speed runs where the developers....they know all the little tricks and hacks to move through the story.

Might be in TRM's post, but this is an a great article about how these guys spent their 3 hours in Skyrim. Some possible minor spoilers I guess but still awesome to read some of the stuff they did. This game seems like it could be the best game of this console generation.

ya i only read like two of them, but its hard to spoil more than like .1% of a game like skyrim in a skimpy 3hr review.
