Well I was considering joining the Stormcloaks, but their hatred for everything but other Nords kind of turned me off. Tonight, after homework, I suppose I'll be making my trip to Solitude

I currently have 3 shouts. Hopefully find more tomorrow on my day off.

I have 3 shouts as well. The only one I've really used so far is the one that pushes you forward. It's been useful in caves/dungeons.

I find unrelenting force when its fully maxed out to be great. Really helps when fighting more than one guy, especially if they're tough. Also, if I'm fighting a frost dragon, I use fire breath and vice versa.

Did you notice the Prisoner auto save that the game makes by itself? Were you saving over that or did you create your own manual save? I think this could explain the problem people have been having. Otherwise for some reason there's a huge bug that you can only have 1 character at a time. Wonder if it's the same for 360?

I just save on a new slot, I don't overwrite on any of the autosave slots. Although next time I turn the game on I'm going to turn autosave off (if I can).

Well the Prisoner save isn't marked as an auto save I don't think. My cousin has 2 different characters going at once now. Just start an entirely new save of your old character before you restart and it should be alright.

There are more words to a particular Shout that you can discover. With each new set of words you find for that shout, it increases its strength.

Don't know from experience but from what I've read you find most of them on the Main quest.

Also to clarify the shouts.

For each shout. there is 3 set of words to it. To do it initially you find the first word and then use a dragon soul to unlock it.

Now to upgrade that shout, you have to discover the other words to that shout to upgrade it.

For example, the Unrelenting Force (The first one we all should of received)

The Full Shout is: FUS RO DAH
Translation: Force, Balance, Push


FUS - Staggers an enemy for a short time.

FUS RO - Staggers an enemy for longer.

FUS RO DAH - Sends an enemy flying backward, also inflicting damage depending on their impact (This attack is good for sending enemies into traps and other interactive environmental weapons, such as hanging fire lamps).

Same here but I'm finding good success with it.


Currently a Level 31 Archer with two perks with it, Eagle Eye(Lets me zoom) and another one that allows me to Stall a enemy at a 25% chance. The one I really want is the one that allows you to slow down time for better aiming while using the bow.


The Bow saves your ass in alot of situations. Helps with Sneek attachs that give you Critical Hits and also if a strong enemy is kicking your ass, jump on a tall object(Rock, ledge etc) and phew phew phew his ass. Its a good thing also that you can easily pick up 5 + arrows on dead enemies. Its hard to run out.


Also, for you guys that don't it. ALWAYS search a Dragon after killing it. It always has some cool stuff like a handful of Gold or even awesome weapons he prolly ate.

My big problem right now is when I run into a group of baddies (what word are we using for the bad guys here?) and they all close combat me?

I'm using bow and light armor so my armor class is low but I felt like that would be the most accurate to what an archer would wear.

let me ask you...im sure u have spoken to the librarian guy in the college

 

he gives you a quest to locate text from an old Jarl that only he can translate (im not talking about finding the 3 books).....if you did this read on

 

so this quest takes you to the north east to a shipwreck.....on the way you may have encountered wisps (pain in the ass bastards)....right beyond them further to the east i saw this hillside mountain with a tomb or cave in there. its is very difficult to even see that its there. When you go in it tells you your follower can not join you....plus there is a gate that i cant figure out how to open.

What i also thought was interesting was this area did not show up on the map as a discovered location. that made it even more intriguing to me.....just wondering if you got inside there and how you got past that gate

i wanted to be a mage archer type. i find very little opportunity to use my archer weapons for the reason you mentioned.

for the close combat issue, i recommend using an ally or if you're using magic, summon some fodder. using Fury on a target in a group causes them to start battle with each other while you deal ranged damage.

p.s. i'm addicted to Rune spells. Drop a Fire Rune, wait for the explosion, then lay on flames to deal additional damage cause the bad guy is on fire already. so awesome.

p.s.s I've spoke to the librarian but not gone past that yet, i'll read that final spoiler when i do it later tonight.
