you might be right but rugby still more violent
How can it be? It's the same basic concept, tackle the person with the ball.
But in the NFL you have bigger and stronger athletes who are coming and hitting you with hard shoulder pads and even harder helmets on.
Ok if we were to place you in a middle of a game and you got to choose.......
Would you choose to be in a Rugby game and have to try to get from point A to B with the ball in your hand?
or
Would you choose to be in a NFL game and get the ball on a hand off and then have to go try and score?
I haven't watched Rugby in a while but I know that if you choose the NFL Scenario.
First you would have to get past the 270lbs+ linemen(Rugy doesn't have any players as big as these). Rather it's getting through a big Casey Hampton through the middle or an agile Dwight Freeney around the outside either way you're going to have a HUGE problem.
Then if you somehow get past that you're going to have 3 or 4 LB's with Arms the size of a mini basketball trying to take your head off and there's a good chance that at least 1 of them if going to go unblocked and have a free shot on you.
Then if you get past that you're going to have the safety's flying down probably un-blocked to take your head off................
To each his own but I'll rather take my chances at Rugby, I'm a pretty fast and agile person so I'd have the chance of shaking a few rugby players and beating them with speed.
I can't however shake and bake my way through a NFL playing field where you have DE's running close to 4.7s..........
