I should add I don't think you can compare '07 to '11 like some people think. 2007 the Patriots were a big play, throw to the outside offense. That allowed the Giants to get tremendous pressure in the SB. This year, it is all about quick hits, and Brady should be able to get rid of the ball before any serious pressure.

That defense of the Patriots needs to step up though :shifty:

They played earlier this year and the Patriots offense was shut out in the first half and only scored 3 points through three quarters. I don't think it matters whether the Patriots are throwing it deep or short. They'll have some trouble.

I agree they will provide some trouble, but you can't really exclude 25% of the game and act like they got shut out. The Patriots had a three game stretch of 20 points in the middle of the year, then after that scored 30+ in every game but Miami (27).

Expecting a high scoring game, to be honest.

No one can predict the future..but for the sake of sports talk, I'll take the counter point..if its high scoring,it will only be because the Giants are scoring all the points...The Pats will end up looking like the Marino lead Dolphins against the 49ers...this year, the Pats are the team that inexplicably got there with a bad defense,dont really belong and it will be exposed on Sunday....and Gronk wont be a factor...trying to fit him with shoes, trying different tape ankle ideas, trying to hide that he is needing the pressure rap/cast,whatever it is when he is off camera..he wont be effective during game.....

a wide receiver made to play defense on a weak defense? come on,...aint gonna help in the big game.....

Actually I wanted Robert Gallery. At the time, our o-line had protection issues. I felt the Giants could win if they kept Kerry Collins upright. They already went to a SB with the guy. I was shocked they made the move for Eli. I thought Rivers was their man. But as Archie Manning told Mike Francesca, Eli's personality is perfect for dealing with the NY media scrutiny - nothing gets under his skin. I could see a hothead like Rivers going off.

Agreed on Gallery. I was actually at a Yankees/Red Sox game, in the bleachers at the old Stadium with a Sox fan friend of mine. I just remember hearing "holy shit, they just traded for Eli!".

I remember that Gallery would've plugged their biggest hole at the time, and would've been a perfect fit. Given the career trajectories (to steal a term from Trent Dilfer), the Giants knew what they were doing.
